FIBA World Championship, Day 5 Open Thread
Plenty of big matchups both symbolic and competitive today. Team USA takes on Iran this morning. In non-blowout action, Lithuania and France fight for the leadership of Group D, Slovenia and Brazil duke it out for the No. 2 spot behind the USA in Group B and Serbia and Australia do the same in Group A, where Argentina leads.

The Greeks are thinking of losing intentionally vs Russia,
so they can avoid Spain in the Round of 16. The funny ridiculous thing is that the Russians are thinking the same thing. There’s a strong chance one of the 2 teams (or both) will play make a parody out of the game.
FIBA is already thinking about changing the qualification rules in the next tournament.
I would take Spain with the way they're playing right now
Wouldn’t it be funny though if both the Greeks and Russians tried to lose intentionally
Cousins is good but he's no mana from heaven.
Lithuania - France should be a good match
Serbia-Australia could be fun. Perhaps Turkey- Puerto Rico could have been interesting if Arroyo would have played. With Barea, Ramos and Balkman, they could still give Turkey a fight, though.
Dunking Dutchman
My parents hometown of Iran are going to get battered; Persians are very, very, very, bad at basketball.

Cousins is good but he's no mana from heaven.
LOL, not a chance in the high heavens will the U.S lose this one, and Tunisia, who has yet to win a game, has an even less of a chance at victory.

adds more to the plotline.

I read a really good piece on NBA PlayBook on how Thibs could make them an even better defensive team than last year.
Really good stuff. Here is the link, I recommend it a lot.

diaw hit a three, guy on lithu hits a three, and then the guy who made the three trails the play and blocks batums shoot. Boy did he get up there.

"Remember this sh*t at christmas!"-Terry Crews, The Expendables
Diaw is not a good passer in general, he is a good passer when there is no one guarding him.
