Anyone watch Spain v Serbia?
Classic game. Serbia won by 3. I admit, I wanted us to draft Rubio but he was disappointing in this tournament; heck, even Teodosic looked better than him. Evans was the right choice even if some say that the only reason why Petrie chose him was because he was the sure thing. Rubio is a great PG but he couldn't even shoot a good % in this tournaments, what more if he faces the superior shot blockers in the NBA? I'd take the NaPG any day.

I think the Juan Carlos Navarro vs. Rubio debate is just about settled
They play together at Barca and now on the Spanish national team and after watching both Rubio has a looong ways to go if he wants to get on the same level as Navarro, much less Tyreke.
Rubio was a kid who had one descent QUARTER (not game) in the entire 2008 Olympics and as it just so happened to be a quarter that NBA fans and writers were paying attention to he got ridiculously overhyped in the media. Note that I didn’t include NBA scouts as they clearly watched the whole tournament, thus he dropped to KAAAAAAHNNN at 5.
He followed it up by playing average basketball for Barcelona in the Euroleague and more importantly Euroleague final four, and then put up this stink bomb in the FIBA Worlds. As Chris Webber would say, “Good Luck”.

Rasic didn't have much of a game, but I wouldn't mind him getting an invite to summer camp
59% from 3pt range on 27 attempts and 50% from 2 pt range. 94% on his FT’s on 16/17 over 6 games. Along with 23 assts and just 10 to’s, and 7 steals, that pretty good especially for a 6-5 SG.

There is always the question of skills translation from league to league
College to NBA, D-League to NBA, Summer League to NBA, Eruo League to NBA and in this case, FIBA to NBA.
And that is why they pay scouts and GMs (and fire scouts and GMs).

Which is why I said 'invite to summer camp' and not 'sign him to a contract'.
he has a great stroke and I thought it would be interesting to see how he would perform against NBA competition. Besides, he is under contract in Europe and I don’t even know if he would be available.

Rubio . . . .
Sure didn’t look like a Star in the making. Really only one good game – and that doesn’t sound promising if he’s going to get a whole lot better in the future. Another season will tell for sure but as I mentioned to GP when we spoke last year, I see no signs that he can consistantly penetrate against good players, he floats on the perimeter too much and isn’t a great shooter.
Now international rules do make that harder but . . . .
