I was listening to Grant "peaches" Napier today and a caller asked Grant if the Maloofs or Petrie had one move they wish they had back what would it be? Grant mumbled then said Mussleman. It got me to thinking and I know what I think their worst move was and I was curious about everyone else's opinion.
I think the move the Maloofs should take back was their feeble attempt to try and talk to Phil Jackson about coaching the Kings before the 04/05 season. That marked the end of their relationship with Adleman and brought along this horrible ride of coaches and bad decisions. If the Maloofs had gone about that differently we might still have Adleman (and a basketball system) in place. We probably would not have gotten as bad as quickly as we did and have to make player moves that took us down a bad road even quicker. What I mean by that is I think Adleman would have been able to keep Artest, Bibby, and the rest of the crew happy playing together. I don't think we would have unloaded contracts for cap relief and would have tried to get better instead.
The revolving door of coaches (not to mention the selection of coaches) we've had has been terrible and the Jury is still out on Westphal as far as I'm concerned. Stability in coaching and front office is super improtant to a successful franchise and when we lost Adleman we lost that.
What is your opinions. I bet more than one person says the Webber deal. Should be interesting.
