Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Blazer fan here.

I posted this video of the timeout that was ignored from the game tonight (1-19) which sent the game into overtime.

The call probably didn't have any effect on the game but was just kind of weird (I think everyone knew there was going to be a timeout) and awkward way to go into overtime, so I posted an HD video of it. So I looked and sure enough it's obvious your coach was calling timeout.

Good luck to all of you and hopefully things start looking up for you guys.

People like you make me respect BlazersEdge all the more

Anyway, Jason Jones tweeted about this actually, saying “Westphal stood in front of the ref asking for a timeout and Garretson ignores him saying Casspi dribbled.”

Tweet can be found here.

Just a few games after the Wizards shot clock incident, we get this one =(

Oh well, such is life. If there’s a positive to take from this, it’s that this makes us one step closer to Kyrie Irving (or insert your dream draft pick prospect here)

What a joke...

Thanks for posting this Brandon.

Personally, from a Kings fan point of view, it’s not the Blazers, or their fanbases fault, for not calling that timeout. Everyone there thought a timeout should have been granted, and I think had it been the Blazers in the Rose Garden, it probably would have been granted.

Oh well. Such is life and another close loss in the last few seconds of the game yet again. Gotta love young teams….

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

If Omri has 12 games with 85+ TS% (20+ mins only) on the season, I will send RikSmits a slice of Cherry Pie with real Californian cheese pasteurized locally in Washington state.

And to clarify my point about the Blazers in the Rose Garden...

I think because the Blazers are at least a 500 team, they would have been granted that request. It’s not right because so much of officiating in the NBA comes down to meritocracy, but that’s the way it is.

So, the rules say that coaches can call timeout...

do they also say that the referee’s can ignore them? I don’t remember, but wasn’t that play out of a Blazers timeout? During timeouts in the waning seconds of games, the refs usually get together and discuss the situation, they should have been aware that the Kings had timeouts left, and that on a rebound, a timeout call is likely. This is horrible officiating.

That said, if we could figure out how to break down a zone defense, we wouldn’t have been in the position of needing to score with 2 seconds left on the clock…
