Kings Look to Start Road Trip Successfully in Toronto, Might Miss Tyreke Evans
The Sacramento Kings embark on a six-game road trip, beginning this morning with a visit to the Toronto Raptors. Tyreke Evans is doubtful for the game according to a report from The Bee's Jason Jones, with the star guard having turned an ankle early in Thursday's win over the Denver Nuggets. Kings vs. Raptors tips off at 10 AM Pacific on Sunday; your full preview can be found after the jump.
STARTING LINEUPS & INJURIES
If Tyreke Evans sits out, Jones reports that Jermaine Taylor will get the start. Beno Udrih, Francisco Garcia, Jason Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins will be the other four starters. All other Kings should be available.
SCOUTING REPORT
Please check out HighTops' scouting report. A++.
MATCHUP OF THE GAME
DeMarcus Cousins vs. Andrea Bargnani. Il Mago is among the best 7-foot shooters in league history, and his perimeter game will test Cousins' commitment to staying out on shooters. Bargnani can also do a bit off the bounce, which is catnip for defensive fouls, which would be a problem (especially if Evans sits). On the other end, Toronto will either be forced to guard Cousins with someone else (Amir Johnson?), or bring help regularly if Cousins plays up to his recent standard in the paint.
PLAYER TO WATCH
If Taylor does start, I'm interested to see how Beno responds. Taylor's a solid player from what we've seen, but Udrih's scoring will be much relied upon ... unless El Flaco has another random 20-point night. Omri Casspi off the bench could be a nice jolt, too.
BEER PAIRING OF CHOICE
It's 10 AM! Savages. (Blue Moon. Or the blood of Christ, for you Catholics spending the first half at Mass.)
DETAILS
10 AM start. ! Who allows this? Recall Commissioner Stern!
One little game thread today at 10 AM. Let's go Kings.

I'm sure Tyreke is getting the proper treatment
But how many more sprained ankles can one take? Haven’t even finished half the season yet…
I would put the limit at two
how many more sprained ankles can one take
. Durantula maybe 8.
I am looking forward to seeing to seeing Taylor doing something germaine. Maybe a Pooh oop on the highlight reel.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
If Omri has 12 games with 85+ TS% (20+ mins only) on the season, I will send RikSmits a slice of Cherry Pie with real Californian cheese pasteurized locally in Washington state.
He played on that ankle the entire game against the Nugs
The injury happened in the 1st qtr and I was at the game and he was in tons of pain. Not sure how he came back in and had such a great game.
I'll be heading to the game!
I’ll likely be wearing either a black Cwebb jersey or my RekeDMC shirt. Look for me, as I’m one of your own!
Enjoy the game everyone!

I refuse to look for you.
I’ll be watching the game and I’m not in Toronto.

Well that was just mean
I think what pookey meant is that its really hard to see where you are in a sea of people, therefore it is not practical to look for you.

If JuMowbray was a hot girl though,
Pookey would have his eyes peeled, his TiVo primed, and their lives together all mapped out in an epic blog, as long as she agrees to be a Lvl 40 Paladin to his Lvl 69 Warrior.
This.

Good one...
…elfboy. That’s a mighty nerdy screen name you have there.
Suspicious. Very suspicious.

Too early?
We old folk will have already been up for six hours by tipoff, the result of too much bran and those damn neighbor kids. I just hope the game ends in time for me to watch Matlock and have dinner before bedtime – 6 PM comes awfully early these days.

Apparently Joey Dorsey is going to start in place of Amir Johnson to guard DeMarcus
We’ll see how that goes.
