Ranking the Top 50 Sacramento Kings, Pick No. 42
Duane Causwell is your 41st Greatest Sacramento King of All-Time. Duane was the Joel Anthony to Mitch Richmond's Dwyane Wade. Unfortunately, Duane and Mitch didn't have a LeBron and Bosh too. Or even a Mike Miller really.

Although Buckets needs to go in before we finish up.
Also, free Kenny Thomas(woof!)!
Go for it all. You're a great champion.

Michael Smith for me
Probably followed by Jimmy Jackson and Tyus Edney.
Owens would compete for a spot on my least favorite Kings list, along with Wil Solomon, Jason Hart, Tony Massenburg and Kenny Thomas.

Joe Kleine for #50!

Because he made the Hawks look like fools for drafting Jon Koncak.

I concur, Joe Kleine needs to be number 50

Either that or we could extend beyond 50

I vote we keep going until the lockout end is announced
Give em a reason to negotiate. “Think of the fans David Stern! They’re suffering though pick 87 of the ‘all time great’ kings over at STR! they’re voting in Mateen Cleaves!”

If it cancels the season
we could have the definitive ranking of 210 player to have ever played for the Sacramento Kings.

He's easily going in the top 150.
Remember that pair of freethrows? Name 186 Sacramento Kings players that gave us better defining moments than that.
see!?!?
this would totally work

Michael Smith
One thing that pops out, though: Jim Jackson, with 4.2 rebounds per game in 20.8 minutes. That’s pretty respectable.

I'm more impressed by his sharpshooting
I knew he could shoot, but I didn’t realize he was knocking them down at a 45% pace.

Oh, well I already knew that.
For some freakish reason, I remember the most random stats. You’re right that Jackson’s shooting numbers are more impressive, but I wasn’t expecting the rebounding to be that good.

A lot of people hate on Kenny
But Kenny was the best player we got back in the Webber trade and played two and a half decent seasons for the Kings before totally falling apart in Reggie Theus’ first year. The fact that guys like Mobley, Thornton, Bonzi, Jim Jackson are on the polls before Kenny Thomas is a shame.
Children, before you go to sleep check under your bed for the BOOGIE MAN!!
Thomas was the best player that we got in the trade,
and he proceeded to play his way right out of the rotation. He started to slide in Adelman’s last year (dropping 5 ppg and 1 rpg from the prior year in similar minutes), and then fell off the face of the earth under Mussleman, Theus, Natt and Westphal.
The guys that you mentioned actually contributed to their respective Kings teams. The same cannot be said for Thomas, in spite of the fact that production at the PF position was desperately needed during his tenure. Blame the coaching changes if you wish, but for me he is one of the five worst Kings of all time, right there with Wil Solomon, Jason Hart, Tony Massneburg and Billy Owens.

Quick thoughts -
Mobley is probably my least favorite King all time. I hated the trade that brought him here and couldn’t stand his game. Never thought he really put 100% into being here. Ugh.
That being said, I’m using my first vote on Edney. I got to meet him at Arco one year with a friend of mine who worked there. He really was just a regular, hard working guy and appreciated the fact that he got to play basketball for a job. Class act…

Loved this guy. Turned himself to a nice three-point shooter over his time with the Kings and was an active defender. I always thought it was strange how his career disappeared into Europe as I thought he was really coming into his own before he left the NBA.

Curious?
No love for Jim Les or Vernon Maxwell the original B-Jax prototype, what about Gerald Wallace, all three gave their all for Sacramento.
Les could be a consideration
Maxwell only logged 46 games as a King, and Wallace averaged only about 3 points and 2 boards during his Sacrmamento tenure.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
With you on Wallace for Nostalgia Only
He was a benign version of the evil Larry Brown Human Victory Cigar that was Darko Milicic – Adelman would put GW in when the game was in hand and he’d rock the NASTY DUNKS to keep the crowd rawkus in garbage time. I thought it was foolish to let him go like they did.
Not with you on Les, maybe ignorant. Maxwell… really?! I like that nut but… really? Kings time only, not so much.
Who should they have left unprotected instead of Wallace?
Webber? Remember, this was still a team that thought they could contend for a title back then, and Wallace was barely playing.
