Kings Classics: Open Game Thread

Stay connected for news and updates

If you hadn't heard, the Kings are showing four classic games on Comcast in November.  Tonight is the first, a February 16th, 1987 matchup against Michael Jordan's Bulls in Chicago, in which Reggie Theus and Otis Thorpe led the Kings to an OT win in Jerry Reynold's 4th game as Head Coach.  Oops, should have included a spoiler alert.

The game features six of the Kings Top 50 players of All-Time as voted by you: Reggie Theus (8), LaSalle Thompson (18), Otis Thorpe (19), Eddie Johnson (20), Harold Pressley (43) and Joe Kleine (50).

For the Bulls, Michael Jordan puts in a classic performance, almost completing a rare 5 x 5 (5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 blocks, 5 steals) a feat only completed by 7 players in NBA history (with Vlade Divac being one of them. Hakeem Olajuwon did it 6 times).  Jordan finishes with 43 points, 7 boards, 6 assists, 5 steals and 4 blocks.

The game will air tonight at 7 PM on Comcast Sports Network.  This is your Game Thread.

Enjoy!
