"The Knicks, who see Crawford as the sort of potent piece who could elevate them to championship-caliber status, can only offer $2.5 million to the player who had some of his best statistical years with them from 2004-09... The source close to Crawford said a deal with the Blazers is for $5 million and the Kings' is $6.5 million, with each scenario offering its own questions... While the Kings have missed the playoffs five straight seasons and aren't expected to break that streak this year, the source said Crawford could wind up starting in Sacramento, even though it just re-signed guard Marcus Thornton to a four-year, $31 million deal. Thornton is one of many ball-dominant guards for the Kings (in addition to Tyreke Evans, rookie Jimmer Fredette and even veteran wingman John Salmons), but they are attempting to build a high-powered offense and covet Crawford for his shooting and veteran presence." -Sam Amick from SI.com

go for it. get ak while we're at it
two man rotation for each position. we’d have a real deep roster
No more Jimmer time

Im ok with this....
only if we amnestie Garcia… I would rather not have him around to log jam. It would would wipe his final year of 6 million and lets face it, he wont be a king for two more seasons. It would could build a nice little rotation. At times you could even have tyreke at the 3 with crawford and thorton/jimmer in the backcourt.
Stop it
35 and 31. I'm calling it now. Reke and Cousins 1-2 in most improved award both All-stars. Jimmer leads rookies in scoring, passing and Ole's. Make 2nd round of playoffs and Salmons is not here by seasons end.

He means the amnesty talk
What would make anyone think the Malindas would be willing to amnesty anyone, after the long run of penny pinching we’ve been through.
Chances are slim and none.

Honestly Don't See It
Don’t see how he would fit. Furthermore, if the team is just looking to add a veteran piece to help out the youngsters, I think
A. A point would be nice, not someone who would play major minutes, but a glue guy, and
B. Can’t see Crawford as that guy. Sure, he’s been in the league for some time now, but I don’t see him as much of a leader.
ur killin me
Crawford & the word terrible have no business being in the same sentence, unless that sentence reads, “Kings make terrible decision not to sign Jamal Crawford.”

He could start here???
Well he could, but why would you want him to?? He could outplay Jimmer for sure & maybe even MT but what does that accomplish? I’m confused about that.

Nothing
Petrie is the one putting together the best Sacramento Kings offseason other than in 98 when we got Webber, Divac, Williams, & Stojakovic.
marcus will still start!!!!
tyreke, jimmer, isaiah
marcus, jamal
john, cisco, donte, honeycutt
chuck, jj
cousins, jt, hassan
I think I'm in the minority here....
but I’d rather see this 1 year deal (it is just 1 year, correct?) with Crawford happen and not the multi-year deal for Kirilenko. It’s already been mentioned that while the Kings have plenty of cap space, this FA class isn’t that good. Because of the politcs involved, I like the idea of improving the team for this year and still being able to take that cap space into a better FA class next season.

Problem with that to me
Is Crawford doesn’t improve the team. Doesn’t fill a need.
Not wanting to blow cash on AK for multiple years I understand, but you don’t just make a deal to make a deal. Even if it is only one year.

i like how
NBA.com doesn’t have Sacramento as an option for the question, “Where will Jamal Crawford sign?” in the latest poll. Hopefully, we aren’t an option.
