Is the NBA too soft?

Is the league becoming too soft? When I watch the NBA now I notice the game is heavily focused in free throw shooting. I see players attempting to get contact more often than actually putting up a shot. Yesterday I saw dwyane wade jump into a defendr and get a foul. It was a horrible call. But what I'm trying to get to is that the NBA doesn't know what a foul is anymore. A foul used to be when you were attempting a shot and a defender altered your shot by slapping your arm or just not giving a fair oppurtunity. Now you get fouled just for touching the defender while shooting. Really? How is someone's pinky on my elbow gonna make the shot any harder for me? The NBA now is too slow paced because of all the baby fouls. I find myself enjoying the NFL more than the NBA today and I used to hate the NFL. Well Those are my thoughts.
