Sacramento Bee: Power Balance likely to bow out as Sacramento Kings arena sponsor
"Cash-starved Power Balance expects to be sold soon, and court papers say the likely buyer doesn't plan to maintain the marketing deal that turned the former Arco Arena into Power Balance Pavilion."

Awesome:

If by “on their way” joe meant circling the bottom of the bowl then he’s right.

What a shock.
The bracelets that give you better balance don’t actually give you better balance. Who knew bracelets wouldn’t be able to reverse the course of gravity and all evolution as we knew it?

Good Riddance
I still contend the Malinda NEVER intended to have that name on the building. They thought they were GONE, and the contract allowed for some advertising inside the (other city)‘s arena once they moved. I’ll be glad when that name is gone.

Good
Having the name of a company like that on the arena in my hometown was an embarrassment.

An idea...
How about calling it the “Sactown Royalty Palace”?
Right, everyone empty their pockets… I’ve got £1.37 and a shirt button…

Wait... what is happening to me?
Why is this image making me think of highly inappropriate content? Why am I jonesing for a milkshake?
This.
So, to review
The Maloofs, at one time, had a rather immense fortune. They invested heavily in Wells Fargo just before the economy crashed and lost a lot of money. Also, they liked what they heard from a man named Bernie Madoff, and lost a great deal of money. When Arco wouldn’t renew their naming rights deal for the Kings’ arena, the Maloofs accepted an offer from an unproven company in the midst of a massive legal battle, which fell through when the company went bankrupt. If I ever meet a Maloof in person, I will refuse to shake their hand, lest I be infected with Suckeritis.
It’s no wonder they ended up dropping out of the casino business. The gamblers are supposed to be the ones foolishly pissing their money away, not the guys running the joint. These guys were billionaires running a business where people literally give you their money for nothing in return. It takes a special kind of person to blow it that bad when the odds are stacked in your favor.

I think this part of the story says more about how insanely lucky Sacramento Kings fans are right now.

You left out one significant part...
…the one in which they sold their beer distributorship in ABQ and used the proceeds to salvage/keep from bankruptcy seizure their casino resort and condo complex. Said casino resort and condo complex proceeded to bankruptcy anyway, leaving the Melindas with a 2% stake in the Palms and no beer distributorship to generate revenue.
The Maloofs aren’t just dumb, they are functionally stupid.

Should point out at the very least (and yes your last sentence certaintly seems correct)
used the proceeds to salvage/keep from bankruptcy seizure their casino resort and condo complex.
They only used $30 million of the beer distriborship sale. Personally I think the dumbest move was the Fantasy and Palace Towers.

That's certainly a good pick for "dumbest move"
but there are a lot quality horses in that race.

that’s the one that set them down the rabbit hole more than anything.

If I ever meet a Maloof in person
I fully intend to showcase abuot 10 different ideas for them to invest in, only one of which will be a head scratcher. I can guess which one they’ll go after…
Say, has anyone heard the latest chart smashing single from that one artist from their music label?
