I refuse to give up. While the city officials might not be able to influence the outcome of the Maloofs decision we, the fans, can still make it as hard as hell for them to make that choice. If the dust settles on all of this, and they are still here, we will have made progress towards changing minds on the arena topic.
We need to rally again and sell out this Monday's game. We have enough time to make a big push but we have to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and work. This is not a time to boycot, use your anger to get the word out aggressively. Last night the great spamming of 3/4/11 took place and it was amazing. Tons of people were working together to spread a message: "Here We Stay". We need to keep the pressure on the Maloofs, the NBA, KJ and all of our city officials. Let them know we want this team, and we need an Area for the sake of our city! We need to be seen as a vocal majority and not a group of fanatic weirdo's who only care about sports.
I have a couple of ideas. The first is a video. We can make a Here We Stay propaganda style video using still images of all of our favorite Kings/fan memories throughout the years. PIctures displaying our passion for this team and what they mean to the city. We can put them all together in a video set to music and spam the internet with it.
There is a giant BOOK sculpture in front of the North Natomas Library that encourages people to walk up and tag it. We need to use this BOOK as our billboard. We need to put the HERE WE STAY message on it. I am not an artists but someone has to know one. This book is right across the street from the arena and it is right on the street and very visible.
An old article about the book sculpture
Does anyone have any other ideas. Does anyone have any talents they can bring to the table. Some of you have mentioned wanting to help but not being able to attend games or donate money. These are ways you can help!! We need someone to get on this stuff we've taken too much time off to mourn. If there is anything we know about the Maloofs it's that they are extremely emotional and sentimental. Lets make this hard for them guys! Kj's comments were like a kick in the nuts and I almost gave up but i decided that I'm not going to be quiet about this. I hope the rest of you agree.
