How will the board of governors vote go down?

I realized the whole situation is still fluid and a lot of factors could change, but what are the how will the Board of Governors vote go down? That seems to be the last hope for Sacramento that the Kings will not move Obviously the Lakers and Clippers will vote no, but how will the other teams vote?

It will probably only go to a vote

If the Maloofs and Stern are sure it will pass.

I think the majority of teams vote yes unfortunately

I think this will be similar to sonicsgate just not as extreme. The two owners who voted against that were Mark Cuban(Mavs) and Paul Allen(Trailblazers, I think that’s his name). The two I know will definitely vote against the Kings move is Donald Sterling(Clips) and the *akers organization. To be honest I really don’t think other owners will care if the Kings move or not. I really hope it doesn’t have to come to a vote hopefully Mayor KJ can pull something out of his sleeve before the deadline to file for relocation.

The Maloofs will always be some playas, Geoff Petrie can neva be a hata, Chris Webber will always be a playa, Mike Biiby can neva be a hata, Vlade Divac will always be a player, Doug Christe can neva be a hata, Bobby Jackson will always be a playa, Peja Stojakovic can neva be a hata, White Chocalate will always be a playa, Rick Adelman can neva be a hata, Pete Carril you know he's a playa, Kevin Martin can neva be a hata, Omri Casspi will always be a playa, DeMarcus Cousins can neva be a hata, Tyreke Evans now that's a real playa, THE SACRAMENTO KINGS NOW THEM SOME REAL PLAYAS!!!!!

I think the Jazz vote no as well

Do you think the lakers and clippers have any chance of convincing teams to vote no?

and can Kings fans convince other teams to vote no? Maybe that should be the next stage of the here we stay campaign is to lobby other teams to vote no

30 teams. Heard need a 2/3 vote to block move

tough to get 20 teams behind that. Clippers, [redacted], Blazers and Mavs (because they voted against Seattle leaving), maybe NYC and NJ because they don’t want other small market teams jumping ship to their neck of the woods. Small market teams may want to make a coalition against the big market teams and push for revenue sharing and begin this move by blocking the Maloofs. Or maybe other larger markets like Chi-town vote no because they see this as a bad trend in general and don’t want to share their city either.

That’s a lot of maybes and ifs to make such a thing happen. We need the Anaheim deal to fall through no more no less.

I personally think if this thing gets to the vote were all screwed

It's simple majority

As said by Marc Stein

Since we need 15 teams to vote no, who would the other 13 teams be that are small market?

I count potentially: Utah, LAC, LAL, San Antonio, Portland, Dallas. Would anyone else potentially vote no?

Don't get your guys hopes up

More likely Maloofs will stay on their own than that the NBA owners will come to a majority and block a move.

Not getting hopes up...

But at least it is worth a shot, even if our calls are unheard. Either we sit and watch or try to do something right? I am all for e-mails or calls to owners offices to at least show that there are at least 19 reasons not to move the Kings. Just my two cents.

Has anyone sent a DVD or poster or a box of cigars to the other owners like they do to the voters for RoY?

With a copy of Ziller’s 19 reasons? Maybe individualize it to each team and market? Swaying voters is not a new idea. It may not be effective but it would be impressive and newsworthy. And it might make a difference. Maybe.

I can see the other owners voting down the move

After all they already own the Hornets, and with the Maloofs bleeding money in their other interests, how long can they survive in LA? If the Kings don’t get a major tv contract and can’t draw fans away from the Clippers, how long will it be before the league has to buy out the Kings?

Especially if the Maloofs have to borrow money to pay the Clips and Lakers for territory infringement rights. Can they really afford to go deeper in debit?

As I see it the best chance for the Kings to get the owners vote to move is if the owners believe that they’ll fail, and want them to fail so that they can contract the league by disolving the Kings and the Hornets.

Owners like to call their own shots and not be ruled by other owners.

Because of this, the majority of owners are going to vote for the Maloofs. They are going to put themselves in the Maloof’s shoes; They would not want other owners to have an undue say on their business decisions.

If owners were really all that interested in voting down the move

They wouldn’t have approved the relocation extension so easily.

Did the owners approve of the extention or did Stern?

I really believe their gone even if we could guarantee them a

new stadium. Its all about the corporate sponsorships and TV deal.

Anehiem/LA is more marketable to free agents so on the surface it seems to be a no brainer.
