Now I have heard it all as I read this story in the Orange County Register. The City of Anaheim has retained legal representation to write threatening letters regarding potential legal action if the City of Sacramento continues to interfer with the Kings move to Anaheim.
"The City of Sacramento also has been busy sending threatening letters to Anaheim officials advising them to stop negotiating with the Kings and/or make the issuance of bonds conditional on the Maloofs repaying a loan to the City of Sacramento.
The City of Anaheim fired back last week with a letter from a Santa Monica law firm, addressed to Sacramento assistant city manager John Dangberg, admonishing Sacramento officials for turning "what should be a private business matter into a media circus."
An excerpt of the letter from the law firm Loeb & Loeb, signed by partner Scott Zolke: "We find this conduct to be dreadfully irresponsible, and legally actionable, in what appears to be a thinly veiled attempt to tortiously interfere with Kings business. We caution you that your continued grandstanding will not be countenanced." (Don't you love sharply worded legalese?)"
For other rumors about the Kings move (including one rumor that the Kings have already filed for relocation and a second rumor that the NBA has already put together a committee to study the move, and a third rumor that the NBA is fast tracking the owners vote on the Kings move to Anaheim to a timeframe before the CBA expires in June) read the following link:
If these rumors are true what are Kings fans now thinking about with regard to the League's long standing role in this whole process?
