That is what must be crossing the Maloofs minds at the moment as they are seeing their team slipping between their fingers. They were a New York KJ speech away from moving their team to Aneheim and getting that new TV contract. Now it looks like they will be STUCK in Sacramento. A place they clearly don't want to be based on all of their reactions.

So do they just give up, let the deadline pass and try and survive another year? I doubt it.

They will go out with a bang is my guess. They will go to Stern and say, "If you are keeping the team in Sac, buy us out at full price like the Hornets or we will make this public and messy and file for relocation anyway." Why not sell to Burkle? Because Burkle is not an idiot and he will not buy the team for full asking price.

My guess......The Maloofs, Burkle and the NBA come together and come to a number that satisfies all. Sacramento gets the Kings, a new owner, and a new arena plan passed next year. With a new owner with some deep pockets we do actually spend money.......we keep Thorton, sign Dalembert, and then the rest depends where we end up in the lottery. Crazy how things work out. If this happens KJ deserves a statue as that New York presentation saved pro sports for this city.
