According to Jim Crandell on Fox40 a private equity firm has offered match Henry Samueli's offer to the Maloofs to keep the Kings in Sacramento. They are also proposing a 2nd arena that'll hold 25,000, have an indoor ampitheatre, and an olympic aquatic center. This arena will also not use public funding. The guys behind this equity fund want to stay anonymous. But this is huge

Hope so

But this is big news, most definitely. Although I’m confused about the second arena talk.

Herewestay

Epic news, but like the rest of us, I want to see funding details—as in, how are the Nevada folks going to make money?

Also, lost in the bi-winning news was that Burkle reportedly talked to the Maloofs today. Don’t know about what, but that’s a BIG shadow that’s now following the brothers around.

I'll wait for The Bee or Sam Amick to report it

I don’t really consider Crandall a reliable source. Didn’t he get our hopes up with that “gamechanger” breaking story saying it was going keep the Kings in town? It ended up being about upgrading Arco. Hopefully this isn’t the same source.

I don't believe this

Sounds too good to be true

You would think that it must be correct

connected to an Olympic bid or an Olympic training facility. Not sure what a an Olympic pool has to do with the Winter Olympics 2022 though.

Yep

Sac was a big part of SF’s last Olympic bid, would have had Track at Sac State and Baseball at Raley Field, rowing at Lake Natoma (one of the premier rowing facilities in the country, believe it or not). A new arena in Sac would be a HUGE boost to an SF Summer Games bid. Can you imagine the amount of money that would come into Sac if it hosted a number of Summer Olympics events?

Why would the baseball be at Raley Field

and not at the pro fields in SF?

It would be both, just some early round games in Sac.

There’s a ton of games going on at the same time, in the beginning. I don’t think they would put any premier games in Sac, but Raley Field is a nice little park and I’m sure it would work great for a lot of the games. They could probably do some early round soccer games there, too, now that I think of it.

I’ve also been told that when the decision is made, that there will in fact be a decision that is decisive.
