Dunno what Yolo, Yuba, and Sutter could've done anyway.

They’re too far away. I can’t imagine they’d have enough people interested to make it a worthy investment.

Yolo has no excuse

IMO, they don’t have a leg to stand on backing out. That county is absolutely tied to the hip of Sacramento and aren’t doing a thing themselves without. Yuba and Sutter are so small there inclusion/exclusion isn’t financially significant.

If you are reading this Yolo county. You will get fucked over for this I guarantee it. Can pretend you are mighty and independent but Sacramento owns your balls and can squeeze them at it’s whim.

I bet West Sac stays involved though even without the county guys.

Yolo only matters here since the entire population runs along 5, 80 or 113.

In otherwords, all of those places feed into Sacramento with the exception of 113.

Perhaps.

But I doubt it. Not many people will eat in West Sac then go to the game. Certainly not in the sheer numbers that a full arena could bring. That will benefit DT Sac and Kings fans everywhere. LOL

Yes but that's true now. And, really, well, there is no way that will happen first.

I know West Sac is closer than Natomas, but no business will just build next to the River. There isn’t much there that isn’t already developed.

I don’t see it being that big of a deal, but maybe I’m a cynic. The fact that West Sac has gotten as big as it has is amazing to me.

I'm sure we'll address this some other day

don’t have all the maps with me at the moment but Yolo technically could see some real tangible benefits

Whoa, whoa, whoa...
The source said Maloofs aren’t thrilled with the idea of staying in Sacramento.

Since when? Can we get confirmation on this???

It's mainly about Sacramento, Placer & El Dorado counties, anyway.

Cabaldon will take care of any action in West Sac, Yolo county and it’s many livestock can sit this one out.

El Dorado has a lot of money, no?

All of the counties in the original meetings have constituents that attend and benefit from the Kings. They could all help in some way. Some of the counties are choosing not to participate, but if the Kings stay and a new ESC is built they will all benefit.

by Kfan in Korea on May 2, 2011 5:51 AM PDT up reply actions

El Dorado county would likely see very little back of their contributions when in comparison with Yolo

That matters when everyone is broke as all hell. You ain’t gonna to pull much from El Dorado County.

What happens if they do file?

I am assuming the BOG will vote them down. Then what?

Do they sue? Can they move the team even if the NBA says they can’t. This could be a huge mess for the NBA.

I think it's because and plan from ICON

would necessarily involve the need of taxpayer funding and they expect that. We won’t know though, until ICON reveals their pla in full to us. But they did meet with them very recently and that may have been part of what ICON said, IMO.

How I replaced "the" with "and" in the title I will never know.

Seemed more plausible.

That would work too. ;)

I think they are speculating as much as we are about what "public" means.

But we do know that they have said no taxes to locals. I just think politicians need to be more responsible when they use a bloated generalizing word like taxes. It feeds into crazed paranoia. With that said, I will continue to not spend a cent in those three counties.

by carlsbadace on Apr 30, 2011 11:04 PM PDT up reply actions

They did say no tax to locals?

So, did that leave the door open for taxes to visitors, through hotel fees and etc.? Something like that has a much better chance of passing if talking about taxes.
