KHTK.com: More details on arena plan
Our friend Carmichael Dave has a few more details on the arena plan being unveiled today, including that there's no parking structure involved. (This was discussed in the Wednesday night thread.) Why? There are 8,000 spots within a half-mile already. Awesome.
NBA Confidential: Copy of the plan
Sam Amick got an actual copy of the presentation. Go check it out. (Also in the FanShots.)
Bullets Forever: 2011 NBA Draft Combine Athletic Testing Results for Wizards Hopefuls
This is Wizards-focused, but the Kings are rumored to be in the mix for many of the same players (including Kawhi Leonard). Interesting results for Leonard and Chris Singleton, especially.

Regarding Petrie
Yeah, he’d have to be crazy to pass up a currently non-offered opportunity to work for the 2nd time under the NBA’s version of Al Davis.

the entire article was just bad.
it was just a series of lame, undeveloped, and unhumorous rants.
huh? wha?

Those measurements really make me think twice about Leonard.
He isn’t nearly as athletic as first thought.
Kawhi Leonard
Would Leonard really be that much better than Donte Greene in his 4th season or Omri Casspi in his 3rd season? Do we really need to draft a SF if one of these two guys actually take their game to that next level? I can’t see the Kings drafting a SF with the #7 pick. They might trade the pick for a vet SF but they’ll never draft one with that pick. never never never. I bet the Kings have Knight as their number one choice.

Do we need to draft a pg if Tyreke becomes an 18 and 10 guy?
or a pf if JT can become a defensive stalwart and lead the league in rebounds? or a center if DeMarcus becomes a top 3 center. or a shooting guard if MT can shoot 40% from three and be a top tier defender?
Do we really need to draft a SF if one of these two guys actually take their game to that next level?
do i really need to go to work if i win the lottery today?
why deal with if’s man especially when your expecting guys picked in the twenties to become something they are not…id settle for omri learning how to dribble the damn ball and donte learning how to not be a chucker but even that is still too “iffy”
huh? wha?
Kevin Durant's vertical at Combine was 32 inches.
Brendan Haywood can attest that it is much higher.

He didn't
Test very well either. Not sold. In a better draft I could see him falling to late lottery.

I wouldn't get too hung up on these tests
Like the measurements, they are a contributing factor. But the bottom line is that players can play. My bet is that Larry Bird would not have tested particularly well. Kevin Durant could not do one bench press. I’m much more interested in seeing what these guys do at the actual workouts.

Based on the numbers at Bullets Forever, I'd definitely draft Marshon Brooks
if we were fielding a team for the game of Run-and-Jump.
I don’t know how good he is at playing basketball.

IQ Tests: some are people are really intelligent but not so smart
Smart beats intelligence every time. The special ones have high values in both.
Same goes with runnin’, jumpin’ and agilitatin’. It ain’t ballin’. Now if you have both – well, then, you probably aren’t in this draft then you are something special.

He tested better in vertical leap than Leonard,
but he is much heavier and did 19!! reps on the bench press.

I doubt the Kings bring him in personally.
We’ll see though.

I am at least curious as to his ability.
Hes been rated as one of the top prospects in the world for a while now.

I'm curious too.
I’m not put off by his lack of weight and banging inside. obviously he doesn’t bang inside because it’s folly at his weight. But once he puts on some pounds, I thikn he can be a great fit next to Cousins.

You know where Donatas could be a good fit?
Chicago. They need a stretch 4 desperately, as was shown in this Miami series.

Is there any word on how the Minnie workouts went the last two days?

Did I miss something? How does this guy have a workout best max vertical of 42inches, but isnt even on the top 12 for the non max vertical? Not that I’m advocated drafting him or anything, just curious how the hell that happened. Because unless they ommitted him(or Im an idiot and didnt see him on the list), thats over a 17inch difference from his max to non max.
the extra "h" must have weighed him down

Ha
That might have been it. Well played, Rec’d
But seriously? What gives, how is your flat footed vertical 17inches less that your max?!?
I can jump a lot higher off one foot than two,
but I am certainly no athlete.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
Ya, everyone can
Didn’t look like everyone else changed drastically, just a few inches. Just thought it was odd to not even be on the board with the flat footed vertical, and then all the sudden have the jump of the day with the max vertical jump.
Maybe my knowledge of vertical leap testing is off though. Could be the case, I definately don’t follow the sport much.
