Chris Singleton shines in workout with Warriors
I'd really give him strong consideration at number 7. We'll always need someone who can defend the Durants, LeBrons, Melos, etc.

I like this guy
he makes Donte expendable immediately. Omri for O and Chris for D. Whichever you need at the time.
I would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of support during my time of need. I proudly, and with great relief, announce that my C is now working on my laptop and any errors from now on are due to my inabilty to proofread. I use to proofread my stuff, but it began lowering my self esteem,
I have found it hard to sound intelligent if I think while I key. So in summary ; the worse the keying the smarter my comment. The proceeds from the HereWeFixTheC car wash have been forwarded to HereWeBuild . Thanks.
Not that there aren't better picks at 7
i’dt like to end up with him

If you look at his college stats, comes off like a poor man's Battier so far
which ain’t half bad

He is off his feet (a phrase I love that makes no sense) so quick
and runs the floor so well. He seems to love D. If he could learn a corner 3 set shot he’d be Battier.

He averaged 2 steals and 1.5 blocks a game in 29 minutes
that’s Marion type college stats.
He may not be the sexiest #7 pick, but he could be a very good fit.
So did Battier (2 steals 2 blocks by the way). What separated Marion was the 9.3 Rbs and insane shooting percentages from all the buckets in the paint.

I like him too.
Outside of Knight or Walker, I would go Singleton. Just too good at the little things that we will need from the 3. Especially when PW wants defense to be a primary attribute from that spot on the floor, which was made even more apparent with the addition of Thorton and the benching of Omri.
Not to say if Omri became a dead eye shooter that he wouldn’t get his minutes despite his defensive woes, but that the hierarchy of desired skill sets as currently mandated by PW is defense first and offense second.

Unless we're drafting a 20-year-old Pippen
There’s no one in this draft or league that can defend the Durants and Lebrons of the league.

If the Kings draft him
he won’t be playing inside as much as a FSU and won’t be initiating any kind of offense. He would be parked in the corner waiting for spot up 3s, which suits his strengths. He was forced into a prominent offensive role this year which really isn’t his game. I even want to say in a recent interview he said he liked playing defense better and understands that he would be the 4th or 5th option on offense coming into the NBA. But I have watched so many tapes and interviews they are starting to run together so don’t quote me, but I think it was him.

I'm being sold on him...
But I wouldn’t want him if we can trade for a legit 3. Then, what’s the point of drafting him?

This guy might be my favorite if Knight is off the board
Hopefully the Kings take a good look at him. Then again, the guy has to shoot well during the Kings workout to even merit consideration, IMO.

Singleton is good. I watched the VCU – Florida State Sweet 16 game in the tournament and this guy, coming off a broken foot and hobbling, was the best player on the floor. NBA body, tenacious defender – has to be one of the best defensive players in the draft with Biyambo, and workmanlike/solid offensive game. I could Singleton developing into a good NBA player – a 15ppg, 8-10rbg, 1.5bpg type player. I think he could help in Year 1.

You see him averaging 8-10 boards
with Cuz and Dalembert on the floor?

Kenny Thomas pulled those kind of rebounding numbers with the Sixers and Singleton is better and taller. He is an undersized 4 and not a pure 3. Like him a lot – Florida State led the nation in scoring defense – this guy was a big reason. How he fits with current Kings personnel remains a question and it appears doubtful that GP will even bring him in for a workout.
Sammy on the floor? We need to resign him first. Not as optimistic as some others he is coming back.

Two things
First
I could Singleton developing into a good NBA player – a 15ppg, 8-10rbg, 1.5bpg type player. I think he could help in Year 1.
You see him averaging 8-10 boards with Cuz and Dalembert on the floor?
no chance I really like Singleton a lot but no chance of that happening
Kenny Thomas pulled those kind of rebounding numbers with the Sixers and Singleton is better and taller.
Kenny Thomas pulled those kinds of numbers for two years of his professional career.
Secondly, why on Earth are we using Kenny Thomas’s pro years as the baseline here? If you bothered to check Kenny Thomas’s college stats you’d notice he averaged over 8 rebounds a game and that includes 9.3 per game( 32 minutes) his junior season and 10 per game while playing over 34 minutes his senior year. If you bother to look up Singleton’s numbers 6.2 rebounders per game in college with 7 in a little over 31 minutes his sophmore year and 6.8 in just over 29 minutes per game.
Basically Kenny showed himself to be a better rebounder in college. And even then only got those numbers for two seaons of his career. I think it’s safe to say it’s unlikely Chris Singleton is going to be an 8 to 10 rebound guy in the pros regardless of whether he is taller than Kenny Thomas or more athletic. If that was the way this was decided then Donte Greene would be new round mound of rebounds.

Agree to disagree. I did ‘bother’ to look up his numbers – I am well aware of the numbers Singleton has put on the board. I live in the heart of college hoops in ACC country and have seen Florida State play a number of times on TV and in person.
Florida State ran the most prehistoric offenses in the country under Leanard Hamilton last year. Florida State killed the clock on every possession on offense and with their smothering defense, which was actually pretty cool to watch, so you can only read so much into the rebounding stats IMHO plus the hobbled foot Singleton dealt with this year.
Bottom-line I like his chances as an NBA player – given Hamilton’s ridiculous slow down offense at FSU do not think his college numbers are a pure predicter to his NBA numbers. I think he will be a good undersized 4 or a defensive stopper/rebounder who will need to develop his jump shot at the 3 spot. In a weak draft, Singleton is a guy who will help in Year 1.

I like Singleton a lot too. Really like him and saw him play this year and last
but let’s be realistic. You say you watch the games and argue his rebound numbers were low because of how slow the offensive was yet completely ignore how often Singleton rebounds in relation to opportunities to get a rebound. When you take pace out of the equation the guy has a 8.1% ORb and a 17.1 DRb.
I dunno how often a guy in college with those percentages and Singleton’s height bust out and grab 8 to 10 boards a game in the pros. For instance, Al-Farouq Aminu was two years younger than SIngleton and threw up a 14.4% ORb and a 20.7% DRb out of Wake Forest. The guy put up a a 6.6 TRB per 36 minutes in his first season.
If he is a surefire, starting caliber, defensive role player
I’d be happy with him. Bring Reke in & see if he can shut him down.
I love beating dead horses.
