Will he be available?

It almost feels as if a team will trade for 6th pick to get him before us. maybe we should trade for first pick to guarantee we get him. Only kidding…a little

I was talking in the context of Jimmer being more impressive in his workout’s than expected.

by StevenG on Jun 15, 2011 12:09 PM PDT up reply actions

I'm not surprised Jimmer did well offensively against Kemba.

I think most people expect that on a consistant basis. The question I have is how Jimmer did guarding Walker. I know Corbin said Jimmer looked better defensively, in person, than on film, but that doesn’t say how well he did.

Nope

It just depends on how the King’s draft board is. For me, I would be very upset because I have Jimmer listed after Irving, Williams and Knight. I know those three will be gone before our pick and I just don’t like the Euros this year.

The nightmare scenario (for some)

Irving, Williams, Kanter, Fredette and Knight go within the top six, leaving us to choose from (using my list) Leonard, Vesely or Valanciunas. I’m OK with this, but there are tons of people here who would be very unhappy.

Up next, using Casspi and the #7 to move up to draft Jimmer!

Here you go Dirkula.

1) everything (seriously)
2) talent, depth mainly at the center position and in the back court.
3) 1,2,3 Plenty of depth up front.
4) everything (even after drafting #1)
5) 1,3,4/5 (depending on what you consider Bags) and depth. Maybe even a 2 if they deal DeRozen to move up.
6) 2,3,4,5 (best player available that is not a PG)

I don't think Utah can afford to take Jimmer at 3 with Kanter still on the board.

1) Irving
2) Williams
3) Kanter
4) Valanciunas or Vesely
5) Knight
6) Leonard or Vesely
7 Jimmer

That’s how I see it breaking down. I can’t see Jimmer going top 3. I can’t see him going at 4 with Irving or 6 with Wall(barring trades of course) and I don’t think Toronto looks his way if Knight is on the board and it sounds like they really liked Kemba, so he might go 5 to Toronto.

From what I read on STR...

Kemba’s Sac workout was less then impressive and it’s not just that he couldn’t guard Jimmer… But (I would have to go back and read the thread)- it was said he had a hard time guarding the scrub guard they had in that workout. I know this draft is so up and down and we could all change our minds a couple more times before the draft- but I’m really getting worried about drafting Walker. I was on board with him at the beginning of all this but after these workouts I’m starting to be scared off.

I think I've narrowed it down to either wanting....

Jimmer or Vesley. I wasn’t sold on either of them at the beginning but right now I can’t help but want them lol

Jimmermania is going bonkers!!!

I know we're gonna lose but I still think we're gonna win.

Problems solved...

Draft Jimmer and start him at sf. That way Jimmermania is fully realized and with his unlimited range, he’s the perfect guy to stand around in the corner for floor spacing. As far as defense goes, no worries at all- this is Jimmer we’re talking about after all!

We can't have him in the corner three,

it’s too close.
