[Fredette] would presumably take Tyreke Evans's job at point guard, which probably tick off Evans; Evans isn't really a point guard, but neither is Fredette. Evans would move to shooting guard. If you think Evans and temperamental center DeMarcus Cousins would be happy with shot-happy Jimmer as their shooting guard, you're nuts. Plus the team might move, and Fredette would be saddled with two savior labels -- top 10 pick, and likable guy on an unlikable team. No. Please: No."

Exactly my thoughts
Jimmer would “share” ball handling duties initiating the offense but for Tyreke to effective the ball must be in his hands.

Is it just me, or does this just seem like a really lame bit of internet blah speculation.
Sure NBA players have egos, that is a fair assumption. But it seems like he is taking it way too far. Yes, I don’t think Tyreke and DMC would want a guy sucking up huge numbers of posessions, but to assume that Jimmer would get more than 10-20 minutes per game is overvaluing his abilities and undervaluing guys like Thornton and Beno.
Plus, wouldn’t Tyreke and DMC love a shooter to kick out to when the defense collapses on them? I don’t think the answer is necessarily Jimmer, but to say that he is the wrong guy because he was the ball handler and main scorer in college just seems lazy.
"The Kings have nothing to lose but their games."
Agree. He's not going to be a high usage player in the NBA
Reke and Cousins would be upset if Jimmer shot the ball as frequently as BYU, but that would be bad for everyone.
However, I am sure Evans and Cousins would love if Jimmer hit 40+% of his threes and kept an extra defender out of the lane they both thrive in.
Agree
If Fredette could average 13.7ppg and shoot 50% from the field and 37% from 3 while averaging 5 assists and 2 turnovers we would be estatic. Well, thats the guy Jimmer has to beat out if he comes here and neither one will steal the spot from the other with their defense.

Actually
I don’t think most of us would be thrilled if we brought in Fredette and those were his numbers. If we bring in a guy whose job it is to play a true distributing PG, I’d want at least 6 to 7 assist per game and a minimum of 40% from the 3. I could live with the rest.

Well
First, We all know Tyreke would never kick out to a shooter, he would take it to the hole and go too strong off the glass. The less Tyreke shoots the ball IMO the better. I think everyone is too worried about who fits with Tyrek, if we want to be successful we need Tyreke to fit in with what were doing. When you can’t shoot the ball for dick, you think you’de try to be more of a facilitator, and I don’t think Tyreke will ever get that part of the game.
Pssssh.
Stupid.

with the brilliant Dalembert and 7th pick for Haslem trade idea.
So let me guess, he has us getting an international player at #7
so he can’t talk back in English to Reke and DMC
keep throwing your rocks at the throne
we cant see you haatterss!!

So
draft a player that won’t take shots, handle the ball, or take too much attention away from the other players’ egos. Next year I am definitely submitting my name for the draft. I’ve got huge upside for this role.
watch out
I might give you a run for your money at that spot. Goon squad here I come.

Well
This is all based on assumption, I would think that Jimmer who was his entire offense at BYU would appreciate playing with better talent and would be a more willing passer and part of the offense. How does he compare to Step Curry, if he is in the ball park I think he would be a good fit to any team.
I don’t see Evans being a true point, I wouldn’t see Jimmer as a point either, but maybe together they might fit. The Kings had no real outside threat, if Jimmer is half the shooter he is as a collegian, I think that would help space the floor if nothing else (well assuming he can shoot and get his shot off)
For Jimmer's first 2 seasons at BYU
He was definitely a pass-first guy. I think he understands that going in to the league, he will be in that same situation, set others up, run off screens and pick your spots carefully.

he was actually a very good assist guy his junior year
30% assist percentage and 1.7 assist to t/o ratio.

And funny
because supposedly New York is trying to trade up to get Jimmer. So apparently Anthony and Stoudamire have no problem giving up a ton of shots to the “shot happy” Jimmer. Ok.
Also, like how he says Jimmer would play PG and move Reke off ball. Then he says Reke and Cousins would not be happy with Jimmer shooting as a shooting guard. I’m at a loss for words.
Cause you know
Evans and Cousins HATED shot-happy MT. Please be Thursday, PLEASEEEEEEE!

Yea exactly
And they will HATE a guy that takes doubles off them and builds their assist rates
Can't wait for October
