Take this for what's it's worth, just one guys opinion.
After the dust settles with the new CBA, here is what I think happens.
The CBA allows for one salary dump as they phase in a hard cap. The Kings don't waive anyone. Shocker (although everyone clammers for the KIngs to waive Salmons, shocker too). Then a bunch of overpaid guys flood the marketplace and fortunately we hold back and don't overpay them again. Instead......
The KIngs make one trade --- They move A protected 1st round pick, Garcia and Caspi to Utah in exchange for Milsap.
They resign Thorton long term of course.
The big free agent signing! Theo Ratliff (I know, underwhelming)
PG - Evans
SG - Thorton
SF - Greene
PF - Milsap
C - DMC
I think in the end Greene does well in camp and earns the starting SF spot and keeps it this time. Milsap will be a great aquistition and the trio of Tyreke, Thorton, and DMC step it up and the team stays in contention for a low end playoff seed. Jimmer Ferdette is a Jason Terry type scorer off the bench for us, who puts in a ton of points but we grumble about those defensive lapses. Should be a fun year (if it happens). If we make the playoffs estphal keeps his job, if we miss we look for a new coach next season. Lot's of pressure on him this year.
