Hundreds of Fans Greet New Draftees
Great turnouts. I was expecting Jimmer to say about championships: "Not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven..."

Ya.... except for the fact that Salmons is a SF...
Poor Marcus Thornton, John Salmons and Paul Westphal. You know Tyreke Evans is going to be on the floor, because he’s their best player. Those other two guards? Good luck. The Maloofs want to appea$e their fanbase and get people to the areana … and that’s going to mean minutes for Jimmer. Not garbage time, either

Omri and Donte just won't play that much or Honeycutt
Salmons, Reke, and Cisco will get the minutes at SF so that Thornton and Jimmer get their 30 minutes. But even then Reke doesn’t have to play any SF to still get his 36 min at the guard spots. Playing time will be fine. Its the Pooh Jetter’s and Darnell Jackson’s that won’t get to play.

I don't see Jimmer getting 30 minutes
Omri was used quite a bit his rookie season, and I can see Jimmer playing as much as he did, which was more around 20-25 min; which is still significant, but 30 minutes feels like starter time, Jimmer I don’t see starting, maybe at some point, but not in the beginning.

I agree
Reke and MT23 will probably start with Jimmer developing into a starting PG. Reke moving to the 2. (though honestly, both will handle the ball. probably 50-50) and MT23 becoming the super 6th man.

I'd be surprised if Jimmer played less that 25 minutes a game.
Lottery picks usually get significant minutes, whether their ready or not, unless the brass specifically says the player is a project. The kings have specifically said they think he’s ready to contribute now, not to mention they seem really comfortable using him to try and sell tickets (just go to the kings NBA website and you’ll see what I mean). I’m predicting at least 30 minutes a game, unless he’s REALLY struggling. I’m just hoping that his transition goes smoothly.

I just want to see Jimmer start at least one game so Reilly can put his money where his mouth was.
My swag was phenomenal.
he will. he will.

Just wanted to thank you for sticking by your guy Jimmer. its helped me feel confident about him as a player and even more confident in him being here in Sac.
As for this issue i think we might see some different looks at the Guard position(s) depending on what team we are playing against i am trying to see Jimmer and Thornton on the Floor at the same time. With DMC using his passing from the low post….. (drooling). you know Westy, Your line-up is your beast to mess with.

its questions like these that make STR oh so lovely.
I expect as minimums
Evans (36) Thornton (32) Salmons (30)….that leaves 36 minutes for Fred (24) and whoever the other player may be (Omri, Donte,Cisco,Honneycutt).
Front court is the issue we have DMC JT (28) and 36 minutes for ?
I would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of support during my time of need. I proudly, and with great relief, announce that my C is now working on my laptop and any errors from now on are due to my inabilty to proofread. I use to proofread my stuff, but it began lowering my self esteem,
I have found it hard to sound intelligent if I think while I key. So in summary ; the worse the keying the smarter my comment. The proceeds from the HereWeFixTheC car wash have been forwarded to HereWeBuild . Thanks.
I see it playing this way
You are short 16 minutes here in the PG/G/Sf slot you should have a total of 180 minutes there and yours only adds to 134
Evans:36 > Thornton: 30 >Fred 24 > IT2: 18 > Garcia: 12
Salmons: 36 > Omri: 16 > Honeycutt: 8
Cousins: 34 > JT: 34 > Dalembert: 30 > Donte : 14 >Whiteside:8
If we don’t keep Sammy then I see a FA or a trade coming with Omri/Donte or Omri/Garcia. I do see if he stays Donte playing more PF this year

Ok yeah you are right i am thinking of 60 minutes games..OOps still 10 short here let me rework my minutes here
Founder of team Omté Caspeen
Yea ...you are right for the 10 minutes short...which was your main point.
My hope is that only 5 players usually rotate for those 3 spots . I really believe Fred will get 30 and leave about 16.
Even though I like Omri way better than Donte I could see Donte winning out because there are a number of taller SFs that he may be the best fit (and the risk of one of my old english teachers rising from the grave and beating my ass) for.

While I do agree here, we still saw pooh, JT2 and several guys getting minutes for def/off reasons and foul trouble. I see Donte getting more minutes at PF this year then SF

You are dishing out 10 minutes of overtime (5 x 10)
and if IT2 is JT2, he’s no longer on the team

If Donte plays PF for any period of time
Chalk us up for 15 wins this year.

Minutes math
I would also add 10% to available minutes to account for injuries. That is, add up the avg. minutes played for all Kings players last year and it likely far exceeds 240 mpg.

it was actually around 336 mpg
including Landry and Thornton but still

Yeah -
Out of town and not in a location where I can access last year’s stats. But there are core rotation players on the inactive list more often than not, which opens up more minutes.

Just the one post, really
The problem is, no one really flagged inappropriate comments, and when the name calling started, it was flying both ways. I’m not sure how to administrate to that. I mean, if a fellow member is not accurate (as was the case with this member), make the correction and move on. If the member gets personal, flag it as inappropriate. If the member is just a lunatic, eventually they will step over the line, at which time their comments should be flagged or their activity reported.

You guys aren’t leaving any playing time for our 20+ million in cap space!
Point: Our roster is not going to look like this come January.

I think I did: Dalembert: 26, Thornton: 26 there’s at least 12-16 million right there

No, if we did re-sign Dally and Thornton and our rookies,
we’ll still have 20+ million. Anybody back this up?

Samuel Dalembert $8,000,000
John Salmons $8,000,000
Francisco Garcia $5,800,000
Tyreke Evans $4,151,640
DeMarcus Cousins $3,627,720
Jason Thompson $3,001,284
Omri Casspi $1,341,960
Donte Greene $1,679,913
Marcus Thornton $6,100,000
Hassan Whiteside $788,872
Jimmer Freddette $3,627,720
Tyler Honeycutt $1,679,913
Isaiah Thomas $788,872
$48,587,894
This is what i am looking at next year as probable salaries – If we even look at a $62 million cap thats only leaving a shade over 13 million remaining. Share we could pick up a couple free agents beyond that at MLE, but why at this point when we have all of our positions filled and minutes gonna be hard to come by at that point with 13 positions already filled. This is removing Pooh and Dblock off the roster as well. (Team option/QO). Soem people may say this is generous for Thornton and Sammy but I think the 2 combined will be about 14 million. The only spot I would think about looking at here is 1 more big that we could possibly use which would bump Whiteside out
Founder of team Omté Caspeen
BTW
Using this roster
Jimmer > IT2
Reke > MT23 > Garcia
Salmons > Omri > Donte > Tyler
Cuz > Whiteside
Sammy >JT
Founder of team Omté Caspeen
What I hope happens...
Jimmer > IT2
Reke > MT23 > Garcia
Salmons > Omri > Tyler
Cuz > JT
Gasol > Whiteside

Pretty Clear cut rotation if you ask me.
Also, Omri can slide to the 4 for stretches due to his size and rebounding ability.
by Ultrakingsfan on Jun 28, 2011 12:14 PM PDT up reply actions
I really could be down for that, but rather see JT at C and whiteside at 4
Founder of team Omté Caspeen
Doesn't really matter either way.
I still think omri should get minutes at the 4 before whiteside.

Yeah sort of.
I did some looking into the PF’s in the league and you are correct in saying that he has the “size” put i just don’t see him matching up physically to the KG’s and the Nowitzki’s of the NBA. sure could see him matching up against a few of the Charlie V’s. But….
