I have a feeling Walker may slide a bit

I just don’t know if teams are gonna want an undersized high volume combo guard without elite athleticism

Chad Ford is also reporting

Utah, Washington, and Toronto are impressed by Vesely. Reps were in Europe watching him play today.

I hope we can find trading partner for pick.

But considering my favorite, Jonas prob isn’t coming over because of huge buyout, right now if we are forced to pick I’d like Jimmer or Jan

what about montiejunas?

I know i don't know it all... its just what my parents call me

And I like Jimmer because we could always use shooters

It wouldn't surprise me

if Motiejunas dropped into the 20s. I have a feeling he pulls out of the draft again to try to get into the lottery next year. That’d be a mistake in my opinion. He pulled out last year because his stock dropped, and its dropping this year. Next year the draft is even more stacked, and unless he really, REALLY improves next year, he’ll be even further down the board.

Do you know if he has a big buy out?

Same with Jan. I liked Jonas but his 3 mil buy out scares me

by KingsFanInPortland on Jun 8, 2011 10:34 PM PDT up reply actions

related but different topic

If you are the Kings and attend the EuroCamp workouts and see a budding star in Jonas V. do you pick him anyway and leave him stashed across the pond, disappointing your fan base or only draft him if the buy out is realistically going to happen with this 19 year old project this year? (David Kahn please don’t answer this)

I don't know if we can afford to take the risk

And from the little I have seen I really like him

Yes

If (and that’s a big if) it is determined that he is the best player available at #7, grab him. Heck, there’s a 50/50 chance that there will be no season this year anyway. That said, it might be a tough trigger to pull if there is another player left on the board that excites management, even if it is a little less than Valanciunas. For example, if GP saw something that he liked in a Walker or Fredette or Leonard or Singleton and they were on the board, could he / should he resist?

on the roster this year – or trade the pick.

It would be very interesting

If we have yet another situation where the player most of us want (Brandon Knight) somehow slips to us again.

That's what I'm thinking

Cavs – Irving
Minny (or even if they trade it) – D Will
Jazz – Kanter, Vesely?
Cavs – Kanter, not another PG
Toronto – Kanter, Vesely, Kemba
Wiz – Leonard, Vesely, not a PG
Kings – Knight!!!

We thought Rubio was gonan be there at 4

We thought it was unlikely Cuz was gonna be there at 5

I like Tyreke a lot better than Bayless.

I was kidding...

People were furious at the time and had to be talked off the ledge, but it turned out that Petrie made a good pick without moving up.

Yup, JT is still a solid pick, especially with his improvement towards the end of this season.

Still got hope.

Barring a mix up via a trade in the top 6 I see it like this

1) Irving
2) Williams
3) Knight
4) Kanter
5) Walker
6) Vesely/Leonard
7) I think it’ll be Jimmer or Bismack.

by Smills9133 on Jun 8, 2011 7:43 PM PDT reply actions

I agree, as of now

maybe not in that order but 1-5 will be gone before the 7 pick. 3 of those 4 (6-7) will be availabe).
I think Singleton will get some consideration at 7.
Oddly of those 5 only Fredette has been scheduled for a visit.
60/40 we trade the pick.

I would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of support during my time of need. I proudly, and with great relief, announce that my C is now working on my laptop and any errors from now on are due to my inabilty to proofread. I use to proofread my stuff, but it began lowering my self esteem,
I have found it hard to sound intelligent if I think while I key. So in summary ; the worse the keying the smarter my comment. The proceeds from the HereWeFixTheC car wash have been forwarded to HereWeBuild . Thanks.

by ElRonToro on Jun 8, 2011 8:37 PM PDT up reply actions

I think Jan Vesely and Jonas Valanciunas could land anywhere from 3-9...

…which could shuffle the board and move the guards down.

The key spots are Utah at #3 and Toronto at #5. If Utah goes big with Kanter (and tries to get a guard—say, Jimmer—at #12), Kemba and Knight could slide. Also, if Toronto goes for someone big to pair with Bargnani like Vesely or Valanciunas, we could get lucky.

If Utah does go big at #3, I think we should try to trade Casspi and #7 for Cleveland’s #4 to get Knight, but that’s not really Petrie’s MO.

by R-Man on Jun 8, 2011 8:57 PM PDT up reply actions

Sound right to me

depends on Minny

Apparently the Kings skipped Biyombo's workout in Europe

So unless we bring him in for a workout, would be hard to see Petrie drafting him. He doesn’t have enough of a track record to think that Petrie would be comfortable pulling the trigger without seeing him in workouts.

by SPTSJUNKIE on Jun 9, 2011 11:22 AM PDT up reply actions

According to Chad Ford

every team picking 3 through 18, except Washington, has already been to Spain to scout him. Only 4, Dubs, Jazz, Pistons, and Raptors, are there today for a workout run by Biyombo’s own trainer. Every other team will be there to watch the same workout in Treviso on Saturday at Eurocamp.

Got all the info from chad ford’s twitter

Thank you for the clarification

I’m glad to hear it. I have no idea how good he will be though his stats and build are encouraging. But I am glad Petrie is at least doing his full due diligence.
