Keeping Kings in town tiny part of Johnson's new arena goal

The regional support we have seen the past few months is remarkable. "Think BIG" is comprised of community leaders, elected officials, business owners and labor leaders from across six counties. For months, they have worked together in the trenches. In the upcoming months between now and the holidays, our "Think BIG" team will finalize the funding options. And from January to March, we will negotiate agreements with relevant parties as we prepare to break ground and pour concrete in Sacramento's downtown rail yards redevelopment site.

I take this as trying to bring an AEG, etc. on board

And from January to March, we will negotiate agreements with relevant parties

This will be the biggest part of the financing project I think. Once you get them, I think everything else starts to fall in place.

My guess is that of, say, ten funding sources at least four or five will require negotiating. This could be anything from naming rights to cell phone towers to a surcharge at local bars and restaurants. But definitely an AEG would be part of it.

Sounds like they have their act together.

and you just have a really good feeling about all of this after you read that. To me there’s no more “if.” I can’t wait for the Nexus report to be released.
