How is it you write with your left hand and play with your right hand?

Asked if the Kings had any intention of trading Cousins, basketball president Geoff Petrie said, "No."

by Slam_Dunk on Jan 16, 2012 5:10 PM PST up reply actions

Not sure

I’m semi-ambidextrous. I write, eat, and play pool left handed but do everything else right handed, but can do them left handed as well to a degree. I can also write right handed pretty well too. Not sure why I am that way though

Well just consider that DMC is pretty damn amazing and the Pups were pretty easily the worst team in the NBA last year

They’re not that far apart. The Wolves basically added Rubio and Adelman, which is good, but they still essentially only have 2 good players and a team of fringe starter to bench quality guys

by JuMowbray on Jan 16, 2012 5:33 PM PST up reply actions

It's called the offense, not a PG

Plenty of teams run by non pure PGs get far more ball movement than us.

by SPTSJUNKIE on Jan 16, 2012 5:31 PM PST up reply actions

Agreed

Steve Nash’s head would explode if he had to steward this offense.

Don't be so sure

It’s Westphal’s offense, unless you think that Smart has been able to execute massive changes.

SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!

by section214 on Jan 16, 2012 5:34 PM PST up reply actions

right.

but westphal wouldnt have run this offense with a PG like Nash.

At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.

by TrojanCBB on Jan 16, 2012 5:35 PM PST up reply actions

Maybe. Nash is a 35 year old vet instead of a 22 year old

But Westphal showed no creativity and out offense is stagnant. There is no way to justify our current offensive system as optimal for any players.

by SPTSJUNKIE on Jan 16, 2012 5:37 PM PST up reply actions

im not justifying it.

and dont give me the 22 year old stuff.

Derek Rose is 22. I think he would make almost any offense look better.

At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.

by TrojanCBB on Jan 16, 2012 5:39 PM PST up reply actions

Lol. Rose is a year older.

But Rose was also league MVP last year and plays with a top notch coach.

Are you really arguing age doesn’t matter in the NBA?

by SPTSJUNKIE on Jan 16, 2012 5:46 PM PST up reply actions

im saying that age is not what matter's with Tyreke specifically.

He is inconsistent from beyond the arc and has almost no midrange game. Could that improve, sure.
However, his game is based on going to the rack and trying to put the ball in the hoop in traffic. Yet he doesnt have the size or athleticism to play above the rim and so his success depends on whether or not his wild shots go in or he gets bailed out with a foul. You rarely see him go to the rack and look for a teammate.

I dont think that has to do with age.

At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.

by TrojanCBB on Jan 16, 2012 6:01 PM PST up reply actions

I agree he needs to

work on his midrange game and become less single minded going to the hoop.

But BBall IQ grows with age. My original comment was that even PW’s limited offense would be better with Nash who is 35 and very crafty. Taking a terrible offense and running it through a 21 and 22 year old is a recipe for disaster.

by SPTSJUNKIE on Jan 16, 2012 6:14 PM PST up reply actions

i think we were arguing while making the same point then.

I agreed that Westphal’s offense would run better with Nash.

happens i guess.
ha.

At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.

by TrojanCBB on Jan 16, 2012 6:23 PM PST up reply actions

Amen!

We really need a PG to dribble the ball up the court, set up the offense and pass the ball to someone who will THEN! Dribble the ball in to the ground and force up a shot!

Tyreke + Thornton = ......

Tyreke likes to drive and layup/kick and Thornton just likes to score full stop. Bring IT on, Thornton only seems to try and ‘get his’ and with Tyreke and him on the court there is nowhere near enough ball movement.

Great start

Sometime this is easy. Our offense gets stagnant and have 4 players standing around we look terrible. Players screen, move, cut off the ball and we make passes and we look great.

Sometimes this isn’t the Da Vinnci code. Hopefully team figures it out.

should be our starting 4.

"When talent is roughly equal," said Westphal, "the competitive guys win. You have to have that in this league. Here's a perfect example: We (the Phoenix Suns) drafted Tim Perry and Dan Majerle the same year (1988). Now, if you get a stopwatch for down and back (baseline to baseline sprint), Tim Perry was faster than Dan Majerle. That's a fact. But if you had them race, Dan Majerle won. I can't explain it. Somehow, he had that drive, that fire, something inside him. If you have enough guys like that, your team starts winning again."
