Salmons trade in the works!

Thats what I was thinking!!

Hope so. I like the guy, and think he could do well somewhere else on a veteran team. Just doesn’t fit here.

Are we past the point...

where we can now trade Salmons? I remember someone saying, since we got him in June, we had to hold onto him until a certain date. But I cant remember what that date was.

I think its either 1 month or 3 months.

If the lockout counts either way were past that date. I’m not sure though I’m going to look and see if I can find the answer

maybe he was sick

Jason Jones said he was staying in a Memphis hospital tonight with a stomache virus and not traveling to Portland with the team.

Yes

I thought with Salmons out tonight and Honeycutt recalled from the D -league, maybe there was a trade in the works. But I guess Salmons really is sick, Damn Petrie with your SmokeScreens!

If there was a trade in the works

I don’t think they’d give up our best wing for not a wing (God, that was sad to say)

What in the hell

Can we get for salmons? Maybe a couple of steaks and some eggs? He hasn’t been proven to be worth a full-fledged NBA player save for one game…

…Outlaw too.

I think we are completely stuck with Salmons

there is no GM in their right mind that would want his end of bench production for starter salary

He's not that bad

C’mon, In Petrie we trust right.. He was soo good we aquired him 2 seperate times. In all honesty though I don’t think he’s that bad, just not a good fit on this team at all. He’s worth around 4 mil instead of 8 imo. 3 teams I think he can fit well in that have bad-decent contracts to receive back are the Clippers, Mavs, Suns. The players I’m talkin about on those teams that don’t fit or aren’t in those teams plans are Josh Childress, Mo Williams, Shawn Marion/Odom/Haywood. I’m not saying he’s worth those players, I just think a deal is possible with them with spare parts included. Clippers don’t have a 2 guard, the Suns have Micheal Redd as a 2 and don’t play Childress at all, Carter is out with injury and those guys on the Mavs all make more than John. I read that the Mavs are going to go after either D Will or D Howard (or both) so if they can cut salary they’ll have a better shot. Probably all unlikely, Salmons just needs to get back on his game.

sorry

I’m thinking too far out the box. We probably are stuck with him. After posting this I realized theirs no way Mavs have anything to do with him. Rotten Salmons stinks. I hope he gets it together thogh.

For a Salmon?

Can get 1/3 of a fillet. Maybe a chicken plate with a veggie side or house salad.

1. Aquire Salmons
2. Destroy trade value
3. Trade Salmons
4. Profit??

by Beer_man on Jan 22, 2012 5:37 AM PST reply actions

We cant trade Outlaw

Until June 1st.. and I don’t know how many GMs are jumping for Cisco or Greene

by Chent on Jan 22, 2012 6:55 AM PST via mobile up reply actions

There's plenty "jumping from" but sadly you're right... not many "jumping for."

Our wings have zero trade value.

They might be able to throw one of them in a package with JT or JJ, and even then I think that would be limited to Donte or Honeycutt.

I think the kings would have to take back a hefty salary commitment if they want to get an impact player through a trade. Nut sure if they’re willing to do that.

Fish is stuck here for this year

But with bill amnestied next year for sure. I think we might see Salmons just get sent to the bench so Honeycutt can get some playing time.
