wish i could be that optimistic
But its taken these guys half of an hour to reach 40 points. I don’t think its going to get better.

Defense isn't much better. They are getting too many second chance shots.
Asked if the Kings had any intention of trading Cousins, basketball president Geoff Petrie said, "No."
Theyve been held to 2 points...
4 minutes in…. weve only score 2? TAKE ADVANTAGE KINGS!..

I love Donte for just about everything BUT his shooting
And yet he feels like he like he should be taking more shots than anyone not named Cousins…
We need to go to cousins in the post...

Agree, Kings spend 90% of their possession beyond the 3 line.
Cousins should be receiving the ball in the post at least 50% of the time and running the offense from there

Makes the Niners loss yesterday bearable to watch.
This team stinks and is really difficult to watch. Pisses me off!

Don't agree with this one
I’ll take a blowout where I can resign halfway through the game over a blown playoff game in overtime any day. That was the single most depressing game I’ve ever seen.
I'd agree
Until trying to watch this. At least the Niners were competitive and fun to watch.
I’m feeling the apathy start to kick in over the Kings and that sucks considering what unknowns there are past this season.

Run the offense through the post making cuts.
JT, Hickson, and Cousins post up, get position but then turn to face-up. I don’t get it
not as much of an insult as is sounds like though
he can be a great “down low” player, without really going back to the basket too often…. couldnt hurt to learn how though
thats why i used to think landry would have been good next to cousins,
he can post a little bit…. but i guess that didnt work
Well, theres that one Wally

The Blazers are playing atrocious. Any other NBA team would be right in this
We, on the other hand, are down 15
I'm talking about this game.
They are shooting 41%. They are bricking dunks and wide open shots. And they’re UP BY 20!
It doesn't matter what their record is, it's about the desire to win and I don't see a desire from this team right now
by Reke_Havoc13 on Jan 23, 2012 8:55 PM PST up reply actions
I don't mind a loss if they show some effort and right now they're lacking effort. How the hell do you allow so many 2nd chance points and play carelessly?
by Reke_Havoc13 on Jan 23, 2012 8:57 PM PST up reply actions
Blazers are a good rebounding team. These guys haven't quit
Don’t get me wrong. Tonight is frustrating. But team is fighting. And we’ve had a brutal stretch of road games.
We need a nice home stand.
I'm truly trying to stay optimistic this season but I can't wrap my head around why Salmons AND Outlaw are still on this team after 17 games. Our SF position is almost non-existent and Petrie hasn't done anything to fill the need
by Reke_Havoc13 on Jan 23, 2012 9:00 PM PST up reply actions
Agree. He tried with Salmons who has fallen off a cliff
I am sure he knows this. WE’ll see what happens.
Improvement can be seen, but the road stretch has been brutal.

we could do ANYTHING other than get blown out. We either win a close, close game or we get run out the gym every single night. These players need some pride….this is pathetic.

The Blazers just keep getting good/lucky shots plus they have really good shooters in Crawford and Matthews. Plus they have Thomas and Smith to do the dirty work. We need Hayes to come back soon.

the things that's so depressing about all these blowouts
is that they make you realize the win have pretty much been flukes.
You know. The problem isn't the offense any more. It isn't the coaching. People are getting open looks and they just miss the shots.
by BurningFeathers on Jan 23, 2012 9:19 PM PST reply actions
Team is moving the ball better.
Need to learn to play better team D.
Shots also need to go in. Home court will help with that. 8 of our 13 in Feb are on the road, but at least some easier teams.
I hate to mention this
But this is pretty much an average game offensively for the Kings if you look at %s across the board and TOs
35 and 31. I'm calling it now. Reke and Cousins 1-2 in most improved award both All-stars. Jimmer leads rookies in scoring, passing and Ole's. Make 2nd round of playoffs and Salmons is not here by seasons end.
I agree, but
It is also true that the Kings were a 6-8 minute lazy stretch (mid-late 2nd quarter) away from making this a game. They just dug themselves too big a hole and had little chance to dig out of it.

Another night
Another successful dinner provided by the Kings’ ineptitude! It really is comforting to see the Kings helping out in this recession by giving an arena’s worth of people free food every road game. So thoughtful!

I know alot of Kings fans who complain about this.
Baffling. Almost condescension from the Maloofs, presuming that Kings viewers watch mostly to enjoy the other teams’ superstars.

They are SUPPOSED to be
But when I buy tickets to every game of the season, shouldn’t I be entitled to the same things you get if you buy tickets to that one game? Instead, we don’t get any of the shirts from the games UNLESS we spend our points to get them…these are the points you receive for renewing.
Also, I’m disabled and they chase me through the parking lot (even though I have plates on the front AND back) every home game when I drive toward the handicapped parking area.
I could sit here all night telling you all the crap but the short version is NO, the NBA hasn’t made any big changes.

Right, and were not a playoff team.
We lost our leading scorer and arguably our best defender in paint.

Is there an anti-rec?
Thornton and Hayes should not be impact players for ANY team. That would be like saying “Chill Celtics fans, we’re missing Pietrus” or “Don’t worry Dallas, once Yi Jianlian and Dominique Jones are healthy again we’ll be the best in the league”
Um
They are our starting center and starting 2 guard. Tell me any team that wouldn’t be affected by having two starters out.

Okay...wow...
Not at all what I said. I didn’t say once we get Hayes and Thornton back we will be back in the playoff hunt in no time. Nope, never did. But guess what? This is our team and Thornton is our leading scorer and Hayes might be our best paint defender. Like it or not, you have to deal with it. Sure, their roles might not be as big as they are here on other teams, but thats somethiing we have to deal with. I’ll just stop. Your comment didn’t make that much sense to me.
