Is it me or are the increasingly insecure and dark reviews of the game and the "what went wrongs" alarming?
Seriously good stuff. Am I the only one who can taste the tart syrup of a pancaked coach?
The DMC issue took back burner in tonight's post game review. Why go on and on about the goods when you can save all your energy for elongated public rebukes of the bads. Kudos Coach! You're leadership is an inspiration to all the suicide bombers who've come before you...Keep your hand tight on that red switch. The phone call is coming whether you press it or not.
Tonight the real story was an offense that is guarded tightly by just two things: opposing teams and oppressive coaches. I mean seriously!
Not quoting verbatim of course, here's the gist of what I heard:
The guys are talented. The guys in that locker room are the right guys. The guys can shoot. The guys are thinking too much. The guys need to just react.
So the entire issue with the offense is an over-thinking group of sharp shooting performers? I ask again, seriously?! Go to the film room and put your head in the corner coach! I love the Kings as much as anyone, but I'm not stupid enough to believe they're actually trying too hard because they're all thinking too much!
The two real problems:
1) The players don't like your offense and run it poorly. Perhaps because it's too simple, perhaps because it's not effective and perhaps because they all set a crappy pick!
2) The players don't like you. Actually, I don't think you like you right now. I think your ego took over a week ago and is pushing you further in denial and your team further over the cliff.
The good news is with each passing post game commentary, your likability and coaching effectiveness come clearer into view for all to see.
I'm out. I missed the pick and I didn't back on defense.
