Sam Sharpe-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
Sacramento's exhibition schedule begins against the Suns and includes seven games in two weeks.
Your first chance to see the 2012-13 Sacramento Kings will come on Wednesday as our protagonists take on the Phoenix Suns at [TO BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER DATE] Arena. Of course, the game won't be televised, per the new preseason norm in Sacramento. So you'll need to drive out to TBAAALD Arena (be sure to pay the $10 to park) to enjoy the action. Radio will have you covered (1140 AM in Sacramento), and we'll have game threads, hopefully with some in-arena participation so that we can properly panic or get overly exuberant based on the results.
The second game of the Kings' preseason run won't be until next Monday at home against the Portland Trail Blazers, so there will be plenty of time for Keith Smart and crew to tweak things, reinforce that simple little offense they are installing called the Triangle and whatnot. Monday's Blazers game begins a run of five games in eight days, concluding with a visit to the Suns in Phoenix on Monday, Oct. 22. Three days later, the Kings finish their preseason against the Lakers in San Diego. (It will be the third meeting between the Kings and Lakers of the preseason. What are we, the Generals?)
The regular season begins on Halloween at Chicago. The first home game in November 5 against the Warriors. Two days later is FTM Night. Make sure you plan to get out to TBAAALD Arena to thank the Maloofs for all that they've done for Sacramento.
