The Kings visit the Lakers in crisis on Sunday.
The Kings (2-4) visit the Lakers (2-4, bwahahaha) on Sunday in a battle for last place in the Pacific Division. The Lakers fired coach Mike Brown on Friday, and are rumored to be near a deal with Phil Jackson. But that won't have the Zen Master in place by Sunday night. So Keith Smart will be battling Bernie Bickerstaff. The game's scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Pacific on Comcast SportsNet California and 1140 AM.
The Lakers pounded the Warriors on Friday, and are said to be playing a pick-up style until a new coach is in place. Luckily for L.A., the team is talented enough to get away with it. (Also, the Kings have been seemingly playing that style for four years.) But the Lakers have struggled overall, especially on defense. Can the Kings make them pay? Can DeMarcus Cousins lock in to battle Dwight Howard?
We'll have a game thread at 6:30 in this stream and in the cover.
