Before the game, the NBA announced it had suspended DeMarcus Cousins for two games for a discussion with commentator Sean Elliott after Friday's loss to the Spurs. As a result, Dwight Howard ran roughshod over the Kings, leading the Lakers to a 103-90 win. Dwight had 23 points and 18 rebounds in the win.

Thomas Robinson was, of course, also out due to a suspension for elbowing Jonas Jerebko on Wednesday. That left Travis Outlaw as a starter and James Johnson getting a lot of minutes at power forward next to Jason Thompson and Chuck Hayes.

The Kings' offense was abysmal. Thompson and Isaiah Thomas were solid (15 and 13 respectively), but Jimmer Fredette was the only true bright spot. He scored 18 points on 7-9 shooting in 11 minutes. Something tells me he'll be getting more minutes in the next few games. The other four wings and guards off the bench tonight (Marcus Thornton, Aaron Brooks, John Salmons and Francisco Garcia) shot a combined 5-27.

Tyreke Evans was again disappointing. He had 9 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. The Kings need more.

Stay tuned Monday morning, when we may actually find out why the NBA decided to suspend Cousins. (I wouldn't hold my breath.)
