Kings vs. Hawks: The power of positive thinking compels you!

Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

Following a horrific loss to the Blazers at home, the Kings welcome back DeMarcus Cousins and look to take advantage of the surely tired legs of the Hawks.

After two days off (three arguably, if you consider effort during the Tuesday atrocity), the Sacramento Kings are back in action on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Pacific on Comcast SportsNet California and 1140 AM.

The Hawks are finishing off a four-game Western swing. They registered a win in Portland bookended with losses to the Clippers and Warriors. They last played Wednesday without Al Horford, who was ill. They've certainly retooled since last year; gone is "Iso Joe" Johnson, and in are Lou Williams, Devin Harris and deadly Kyle Korver. Also, Ivan Johnson. Ivan and Thomas Robinson on the same court makes me a little nervous.

The Hawks are almost certainly better than the Kings, but home court is supposed to mean something, and the Kings will have a welcome respite with DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas back in action. Stranger things have happened!

We'll have a game thread at 7 in the cover and in this StoryStream.
