The Kings are back in action after a couple of uneventful days off. Will the players' meeting solve anything? Will any solutions be too little to make up the talent difference against the Lakers?
The Sacramento Kings, proud owners of a five-game losing streak and the worst record in the Western Conference, are back in action on Wednesday at home against the L.A. Lakers. The game is at 7 p.m. Pacific on Comcast SportsNet California and 1140 AM.
The Kings are 0-1 against the Lakers this season. You'll remember that both DeMarcus Cousins and Thomas Robinson missed that game due to suspension. You'll also remember that those suspensions resulted in lots of James Johnson at power forward. So. Fun!
Keith Smart shook up the starting lineup on Sunday, replacing Isaiah Thomas with Aaron Brooks and Johnson with John Salmons. It didn't go well. I wonder if it's only a matter of time before last season's end-of-season starting five -- Isaiah, Tyreke, Thornton, Thompson, Cousins -- comes back. I'd love to see Chuck Hayes in there in place of Thompson to give the bench a bit more scoring punch with J.T. while maximizing the defense around Cousins, but who knows if Smart will consider putting Tyreke back at the small forward spot full-time. (How fun [and defensively dicey] would a Jimmer-Thornton-Tyreke-Hayes-Cousins starting five look? I mean, if offense is what ya need ...)
Game thread is set for 7. It'll be in the cover and in this stream. Fan predictions post coming at 10. Greg will have StR's #NBASurprises post in the lunch hour.
