Kings final score: Tyreke Evans leads Sacramento past Jazz 108-97

Ed Szczepanski-US PRESSWIRE

Tyreke Evans had his third straight excellent game, leading the Kings to a revenge win over the Jazz to move to 4-9 on the season.

Tyreke Evans had another strong game to lead the Kings to their fourth win of the season, a 107-97 home victory over the Utah Jazz. Evans finished with 27 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals in 36 minutes. He's had at least 18 points and 5 assists in three straight games since Keith Smart asked him to be more of a ballhandler and playmaker next to Aaron Brooks.

Keith Smart figured out a way to play all three of his worthy small guards, though I can't imagine two of them were please with their allotment. Jimmer Fredette and Isaiah Thomas played 5 and 7 minutes in the first half, respectively. Fredette got back in for the last minute as the Jazz were in foul mode. Brooks had another strong shooting night (5-6 from floor, 3-4 from three), and there was a stretch when none of the three point guards were on the floor.

Thomas Robinson broke out with a nice fourth quarter, scoring seven points by being aggressive but smart with the ball in the lane. Overall he shot 4-4 with 9 points and four rebounds in 15 minutes.

DeMarcus Cousins got ejected in the third quarter while the Kings were in the middle of a big run. He'd just had a monster dunk on Derrick Favors, but got two quick technicals from Gary Zielinski after slapping the ball away from Enes Kanter. All ejections are poorly timed. This one was especially so.

Jason Thompson did a good defensive job on Paul Millsap, holding him to 13 points on 4-11 shooting. The only thing the Kings did poorly was rebound on the defensive end. Utah ended up with 17 offensive rebounds in 40 opportunities.

The Kings are off until Tuesday.
