Kings vs. Warriors: Home sweet home

Joe Robbins

After a disappointing opening road trip, the Kings return to Sacramento to battle the Warriors.

After helping three teams open the season in their own first home games, the Sacramento Kings get their one celebration of a new season on Monday. The Kings' home opener comes against the 2-1 Golden State Warriors. It's at 7 p.m. Pacific, available on Comcast SportsNet California and 1140 AM.

The Warriors have wins over the Suns and Clippers, the latter a narrow Friday victory in which Stephen Curry drew a charge on what would have been a game-tying Chris Paul lay-up in the final seconds. Golden State lost to Memphis at home in its second game. Memphis is clearly better than Sacramento, so we'll see how the Warriors match up here.

There's no doubt that after three relatively close losses the Kings are hungry for victory. They fought extraordinarily hard in Indiana from tip to buzzer. With the sell-out crowd in Sacramento, they'll no doubt work. They need to shoot better, protect the ball and get back in transition, though, so working is only part of the equation.
