Kings vs. Spurs: And now a more serious test!

Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

After two wins at home, perhaps the best team in the West -- the Spurs -- visits Sacramento.

The Sacramento Kings have knocked out the Warriors and Pistons to begin their home schedule with a pair of wins and move to 2-3 overall. On Friday, though, is a trickier test: the San Antonio Spurs visit. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Pacific on Comcast SportsNet California and 1140 AM.

The Spurs are 4-1, tied for the top of the West with the surprisingly good Mavericks. San Antonio lost its last game to the L.A. Clippers, getting smoked by DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin, who both went over 20 points. That potentially bodes well for DeMarcus Cousins, who has come around in the past two games. But the Kings have no frontcourt depth without Thomas Robinson, and neither Jason Thompson or Chuck Hayes are serious 20-point threats most nights. So the guards will need to do work to get the Kings the win.

On the other end, Isaiah Thomas is going to have his hands full with Tony Parker. It may end up being a defend-by-committee situation. Have faith.
