Final Score: Kings 81, Clippers 116

US PRESSWIRE

Sacramento played its worst game of the season as they were blown out in Los Angeles. Seven Clippers finished in double digits.

The Kings suffered their worst loss of the season tonight to drop them to 4-12 and losers of three straight. Sacramento was without Tyreke Evans for the second game in a row and his absence was noticeably felt. The Kings finished with just 34 points in the first half and were down by 24 points by halftime. Things did not get much better in the second half as Los Angeles built up a 30+ point advantage and held it for most of the duration. Jamal Crawford led a well-rounded scoring outing for the Clippers with 17 points.

Sacramento's offense and defense were both terrible as they shot just 38.2% compared to 54.7% for the Clippers. Everyone who came in for the Clippers was able to contribute, with seven players scoring in double digits. Meanwhile, only three Kings players finished with double digits, led by Marcus Thornton's 20 points. DeMarcus Cousins played just 18 minutes in the blowout, and had 8 points and 6 rebounds. Perhaps the only player who had a good all-around game for the Kings was Jason Thompson. Thompson finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists.

Another big area of concern was the turnover disparity. The Clippers had just 5 turnovers to 17 for Sacramento, and only one of the Clippers turnovers came in the second half. The Clippers scored 27 points off those Kings' turnovers. Many of those Kings turnovers were completely unforced.

Sacramento's bench was also completely outclassed by Los Angeles's, being outscored 58-25. Los Angeles also killed the Kings inside, scoring 50 points in the paint to just 32 for Sacramento. At the half, the Clippers had as many points in the paint (34) as the Kings had total points.

For Sacramento, they'll get three days to rest and regroup before a home game against Toronto on Wednesday. If that game isn't a must win, I don't know what is.
