Perhaps a fun game to take our minds off of losing...
Let's say that you could combine all of the teams from a division (in this case, the Pacific Division) and make one super-team out of it. How would you make this team? Who would you have as the first overall pick, and who would you use to complement that player?
The game would work as so: you must create one 10 man team (for the sake of starters + subs) from the five Pacific Division teams. You must pick at least one player from each team, with a maximum of 3 players from one team. There will be restrictions on who you can choose (i.e. no, you cannot pick Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin, and Chris Paul to be on the same team, lest we turn this into an all-star roster challenge).
There will be four tiers: Superstars (one pick max), All-Stars (one pick max), Borderline All-Stars (two picks max), Rotational Players (rest of players). You do not necessarily need to pick players from each tier (you can choose to have 1 superstar and 9 rotational players or maybe 2 borderline all-stars and 8 rotational players if you wish), but those are the limits if you do. I will break the players down based on how I view them (opinions may differ on where I place some players, but just go with it unless the selection is terrible, like a Blake Griffin in solid rotational players terrible).
Superstars: Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul
All-stars: Stephen Curry, David Lee, Steve Nash, Pau Gasol
Borderline All-Stars (or potential to be one): Tyreke Evans, DeMarcus Cousins, Andrew Bogut, DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford
Rotational Players: Everyone else
So remember: one 10 man team, with at least one player from each team and a maximum of 3 from one team. Let's see how you would create the Pacific Division monster team! If people really like this game, maybe we can do this for the other divisions. We'll see how it turns out. Feedback is appreciated.
