But it’s obviously incredibly frustrating to see “the cornerstone of the franchise” play relatively inconsistently and barely improve his game well into his 3rd season. At most, he’s a more willing passer. I understand he had injury issues last season but to see him barely keep up with his level of play as a rookie at this point is concerning.

Everyones been making excuses for him but its clear he game hasn’t evolved at all since his rookie year. Hasn’t significantly improved his jumpshot, still no midrange game, still often times has tunnel vision, still makes awful decisions in traffic, still using the same resorting to the same eurostep move in transition, still has a low basketball IQ, hasn’t taken over the leadership role etc etc. Pretty much every statistic has been indicative of his decline. Not giving up on him necessarily but its becoming more clear that he’s not an elite player

He’s still just 21 and still has alot of physical talent. I’m just concerned that he hasn’t taken that next step like Westbrook, Rose, D-Will, and all the other elite point guards in the league did in their first few seasons

I'm definitely not saying get rid of him
just noting the lack of progression in his game. I understand he’s still young and I’m still holding out hope for him to become a franchise player, but there’s not much that indicates that he’ll become that guy.
The most glaring thing to me is the number of bad games he's putting up
I looked it up and in his rookie year he only scored less then 10 points five times. in his sophomore year, nine times. So far in his third year, eight times. You’re supposed to have fewer bad games as you go, not more. Compare to Cousins who scored less than 10 points twenty two times in his first year, but so far only four times in his second year. Cousins is progressing and growing, why isn’t Tyreke?

Well if I was Geoff Petrie...
I would set up an appointment with Tyreke (though quality communication is forbidden in the organization) and ask him point blank if he’s going to fix his jumper and create a long range game for himself. Any hesitation (or unconvincing answer) shown on his part and I would deal him soon as he gets on a hot streak. If he does say he’ll work then I would monitor his ethic and make sure he’s spending extra time after practice to work and get better with the coaches.

Well Tyreke has all the natural talent in the world...
I think he can do it if he has a true passion for the game. He needs to be as passionate as Cousins actually.

I watched the game.
Happy with a lot of things I saw. Isaiah Thomas and Cousins showed me some great things. However, we once again can’t finish a game, and it hurts, but its something im used to seeing with this team. We need to continue giving minutes to Thornton, Reke, Cuz, IT, Jimmer, Donte, JT and everybody else has to work their ass off to even see the court. These are the guys that are most likely going to be their future, so, give them the minutes they need to show us if they WILL become our future.

I like your message. Smart needs to settle on a rotation & just stick with it. No more Salmons, Outlaw, & Garcia AT ALL. Limit Chucks & JJ’s minutes to fit with DMC’s foul situation & don’t be afraid to sit Reke for minutes if he isn’t playing well.
Ride IT, MT23, Reke, JT, DMC, Chuck, Donte, & JJ(I guess) until the damn wheels fall off. Salmons, Outlaw, & Cisco are colossal failures just chalk it up now.
