Red flags indeed...
but I would stil very seriously consider a Reke & change for Rondo trade. The question is, would Boston do it? Would Petrie do it? Who would say no first?

I don't know
Maybe Petrie says no because he believes it won’t work with Rondo? Maybe Ainge says no because he doesn’t think Tyreke will fit with his roster? It’s all a matter of opinion. I wouldn’t do it unless we both give up and gain more. Reke straight up for Rondo isn’t enough for either side, IMO.

I would disagree...
with that last sentence, and here’s why. It is becoming more and more obvious after each game that DMC is the future of this team. I think a PG like Rondo would fit him better then a PG like Reke. Is Rondo the right fit, because of his red flags? I dont know. But I think his skill set fits DMC better.

Why does there have to be one "future of the team"?
by Allbenji on Feb 20, 2012 7:43 PM PST via mobile up reply actions
I just think that...
Focusing on building around DMC would be more productive for the future then building around Reke. I also think the Cousins’ play would improve more or perform at a higher level with a sidekick that had Rondo’s skills vs. Reke’s skills. I still think Reke is a great talent, but I think Rondo would fit better w/ DMC (and that’s making a HUGE assumption that those personalities would gel together).

So I guess i should have included...
that I think the Kings would be the winners in a straight up “Reke for Rondo” trade. Forgot to add that at the end.

I think they would be the winners now
But possibly not later. Which would be the only reason the Celtics do it

I disagree
Rondo has red flags, but he’s been around excellent veteran leadership to keep him in check. Now, he himself is a veteran leader, but being put on a young team like ours could cause him to revert a little. That’d be my biggest worry. The opposite would happen with Tyreke. He’d be with a great coaching staff and a great bunch of vets that he’d have no choice but to respect and learn from than he does here

All kidding aside
Rondo has some pretty big red flags himself, from every report i’ve seen he’s kind of a douche

This was meant as a joke
But, there are some truths to this.

I don't care if he's the biggest douche in the NBA
All I care about is what he does on the basketball court. Last time the Kings took a gamble on trading for a douche, it worked out pretty well…
Fortunately for us, that "douche" changed when he got here
I’m not that sure about Rondo. I think being around 3 HoF players helped him, but I also think it might be a negative.
No one likes a douche, and I don’t think he would like being here, unless we get wins, and I don’t think he would be enough.

No good player that's used to winning is going to like being here
That’s just the way it is. That doesn’t mean you don’t pursue them if you can get them, though. It’s still a business and these guys make millions so I really don’t have any sympathy for them if they don’t want to be here. Be a pro and suck it up.
Uhh... Webber had off the court Problems...
Rondo has on the court problems…

This is the focus
Evans 22 DMC 21 Jimmer 22 Donte 23 jj23 IT 22 Honeycutt 21 MT 24 JT 25
Of our top 8 players in minutes, 7 are off that list.
Noly this Fish cracks it.
Give it time.
Enuff said.
35 and 31. I'm calling it now. Reke and Cousins 1-2 in most improved award both All-stars. Jimmer leads rookies in scoring, passing and Ole's. Make 2nd round of playoffs and Salmons is not here by seasons end.
Directed towards the trade demands I'm guessing?

Reke who gives us 20-5-5 I keep
Reke who goes 4-15 for 11 points and 4 turnovers and kills the clock and the offense I send packing.
It's all Jim Les' fault
He's averaging 17-5-5 currently throughout the year
Are you willing to give him up for 3 points?
by HeuristicLineup on Feb 20, 2012 11:03 PM PST up reply actions
Averages are kind of a funny thing.
Sometimes it means you get 17-5-5 almost every night. I can’t swear by it because I don’t feel like trolling through his game by game stats, but I feel his 17 points is more of a result of lots of 10-13 point games coupled with a bunch of 25 plus point games. I just want consistency.
It's all Jim Les' fault
He has had 8 games under 10, another 5 from 10-14
and 16 at 15 or over. I refuse to figure out standard deviation. Do with it what you will.

Can't subtract 18 at 15 or over.

Eight games under 10 seems like a lot for your primary offensive play.
I hope he finds a jumper and a left hand. He could be so dominatent.
It's all Jim Les' fault
Yeah . it means once every 4 games is poor offensively
which means in a normal season there would be 20 games where the King’s would have to struggle to make up for it. That’s too many.

Pleae man find some consistency so we know what player you are.
Oh yeah while you’re at it, find a left hand. Finishing with your right each time is getting predictable and the opposing defenses are lying you
It's all Jim Les' fault
Wow that ref took that shot to the chest like nothin' !
