The Maloofs should be spending this week scouring couch cushions and washing cars
because they could very well be getting a phone call from Papa Stern this weekend RE: their broke asses. If this thing passes on Tuesday, it will be really interesting to see what the Maloofs have to say about it. I know that there is still a lot to happen between the 28th and shovels in the ground, but the whole Maloof staying/moving/selling/borrowing/fighting thing could really kick into high gear once KJ and Stern come to some kind of an agreement this weekend.

This article may be selling Councilwoman Pannell a little short on this issue.
I think she sees the bigger picture regarding the ESC’s potential economic impact on the region and has voted her support in the past based on this potential. Her District has been hard hit by the Recession and it would be hard to fathom any resistance from her on a project that has the potential to generate jobs for her constituents. That being said, the strong mayor issue is a thorny one and it is the only wildcard that could kick her into the “NO” column. However, I believe she will put this aside in favor of the benefits that the ESC can generate for the region.

I don't think she will mix the two issues
She will vote the way she believes is right. While everyone I have read or heard says it is over a 50/50 chance she will vote no, I believe she will vote yes (everybody’s yes vote depends on the term sheer meeting its criteria) as her district benefits greatly from a lot of the MS&E charity work and the stay in school/read a book programs.
35 and 31. I'm calling it now. Reke and Cousins 1-2 in most improved award both All-stars. Jimmer leads rookies in scoring, passing and Ole's. Make 2nd round of playoffs and Salmons is not here by seasons end.
Good point, I hope she's heard from some of her constituents that are beneficiaries of the charity work

For that matter, I hope that all of the council members have.

We are pregnant and I’m playing the “We need this to take our children to” angle

It is a possibility. Not sure yet!
"Should he just be renamed Player of the Week?" HeuristicLineup on Cousins.

said that sources not ready to be named said the next step after the 28th (in refeernce to NBA/Maloofs) will be locking down exacly negotiations on how and where the money will be coming from. I take took it that he has been told the outline but can’t say yet.
A big jump on my part but my take is the sources feel good about the vote and the unknown would be if the Maloofs have enough to particpate or need to sell a % or more of ownership to finance.

After the 28 there's still a bit to be done
Namely, truly nailing down the parking lease contract and deciding on who the parking operator will be. February 28 is a HUGE vote for this city but there will still be work to be done by the experts in the coming months.
Again, on the 28th this plan either dies or it gets that much closer to becoming a reality.

Wouldnt selling some % present an interesting scenario?
With Maloofs holding 51% of ownership then could they still be managing partners? Would NBA approve it after previous horrors like the Hawks fiasco?
Can't wait for October
