Should DMC play in this year's Summer League?
Typically players only play Summer league their 1st two years and then stop, especially if they are top/franchise types. Last offseason would've been DMC's 2nd Summer league, but because of the lockout, he couldn't attend. Obviously this seasons rooks should be there (Jimmer, IT, Honeycutt) and even Hassan Whiteside and whatever rooks we draft this season. Question is, should DMC play this year's summer league? I feel he should, even in a limited capacity. It keeps him engaged in basketball and gets him to build comeradie/relationships with the future guys of our team. Plus, the lockout retarded the development of 2nd year guys and rooks this year and we should look to take advantage. What say you?

If by Summer League you mean Summer Olympics, then yes.
At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.

I don't think it would benefit him much.
The level of competition is far below him. I’d rather see him work on other aspects of his game, especially conditioning, than see him dominate a bunch of guys hoping to make a preseason roster.
That being said, I am going to try to hit Vegas that week and it would be amusing to see.

For conditioning, for developing some leadership skills - yes.

There's better options for both
Than playing 20 minutes a game against guys that are not in his league.

All second years should.. IT Jimmer and Honeycutt
Our new rookies should.. MKG? Terrence Jones? Shit Thomas Robinson? But not DMC. He produces double doubles in the league.. He needs that level of competition to develop in my opinion. The only time I think third or fourth yrs should play in the summer league is be in whiteside’s case. Y isn’t he gettin minutes anywhere??

No
He managed to improve his game greatly this season without summer league (and during a lockout!). Let Thomas and Fredette go there to hone their guard skills, along with Honeycutt. I’d even put Whiteside on the edge of the envelope – if he’s not starting to get it by now, summer league is not going to help him.

He could use some meaningless games to refine a go-to move or two
Nothing like live action to develop those.
But I’d wait until the season is done to see where he stands.
More conditioning wouldn’t hurt either.

I don't see summer league as the place for this
He could do the same thing playing with Kentucky alum or working out with teammates here in Sacramento. I’m just not sold on summer league as a teaching tool for 3rd year players, at least not the ones that have logged serious NBA playing time. But as I will likely be going to VSL this year, it would not hurt my feelings in the least if he were there.

With you completely
Doesn’t need to go, but, hey if he wants to hang in Vegas, I’m good with that.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
I plan on seeing Anthony Davis for the Kings in VSL
DMC not needed.

This is my dream
and picking up Batum in free agency.
and if you go and go out after the games
you’ll notice there are quite a few NBA guys who are doing a lot of Vegas stuff until sunrise (although yes certaintly can be doing that stuff elsewhere)

I would prefer to see the vets do their own workouts (third year guys minus Whiteside)
Similar to what some teams were reportedly doing during the lockout.
It would be nice if maybe two or three times over the summer as many vets as possible could get back together in sac for maybe 3 or 4 day stretches and get some work in. Would help their game, and the camaraderie, not sure of legality or whether players would put themselves at risk of injury by playing during the summer but something like that would show me alot about this group.
No way. Why would you even posit this question?
Asked if the Kings had any intention of trading Cousins, basketball president Geoff Petrie said, "No."
Should DMC play in this year's Summer League?
Naw, he’s beyond that. Probably should work on nutrition and conditioning instead.

I'd like to see Cuz spend some time working with Hakeem Olajuwon like Howard did
actually any big man coach who can help with his moves around the basket. Even Bill Walton, although on 2nd thought, Cuz would probably kill him if he had to listen to him that long.

I don't think CUZ needs to attend Summer League
DMC is showing his worth on the court. If he keeps playing at the rate he has been playing these past couple games and the Kings record improves, he should be an all star by next season IMO. I think the one player that needs Summer League is Jimmer. He’s going to be a great shooter in this league once he learns how to play in it.
