Around SBN: Ryder Hesjedal Wins Giro d'Italia

At the former Arco Arena, plans are being made to begin selling season tickets for next season in a big campaign that would kick off next month. Corporate sponsors are already being approached.

These efforts are not connected to negotiations for a new arena, but they do point toward the Kings playing in Sacramento next season.

Nice tidbit in a good article looking at the Maloof family's continued viability as NBA Owners.

A small vote of confidence i suppose

but seems like business as usual. Maloof’s covering all bases in case the new arena pans out

Marky Mark would forcibly remove the Maloofs from ownership if you just let him

You know, just like he would have whooped those terrorists and single-handedly stopped 9/11.

Former Arco Arena?

That is almost as bad as the artist formerly known as Prince.

This seems like good news.

Seems like this may be another plank in the “we’re going to give them one more year” argument.

Sounds like the meeting that KJ and AEG had with Stern worked out.

He said that it went very well, that AEG committed to kicking in money to fund construction, and that they AEG on board as a partner.

I would add

That we could all reflect on the lack of preparations that the Kings franchise made prior to this season. They didn’t prepare or send out any season ticket renewals, let staff go, and basically their only plan was closing up shop in Sac.

This speaks of an understanding that the Kings are not staying and, IMO, is very positive.

Exactly

Last year they weren’t looking towards this season at all. They thought they’d be in Anaheim.
