Are you guys really suggesting getting behind was Jimmer's fault?
I seriously hope this is sarcasm. If not, go look at a replay of the game. During the stretch when Jimmer came in, we made up about six points. Then when it was IT and Jimmer, we went back down. Jimmer and Evans is a good combination. Jimmer and IT is a bad combination.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
The only person with a worse +/- was Garcia
9.5 minutes, 1 assist and 2 fouls
I didn’t say it was his fault, I am saying the guys were not clicking well together..Just saying our defense is horrible with him and IT or him and thornton
Founder of Isaiah as Mogwai..
While Jimmer was on the floor
The Kings had a 7-2 and a 7-1 run. But, yeah. No doubt it was his fault they fell behind.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Especially his 1 assist in the first 30 seconds
and his 2 and 3 pointers in the 2 following minutes.

Not at all
I’m suggesting that its ridiculous to claim that we don’t need to see a defensive effort from him as long as his shots are falling.
I’m guilty of bringing an “argument” from another thread into this one, which i’ll be the first to admit is a shitty and low-blow of a move. Either way, a win is a win, and whining about how we got it is just as lame of a move.
by Olde Greg on Feb 6, 2012 8:06 PM PST via mobile up reply actions
Didn't watch the first half myself so can't say much about it
however, when Jimmer came in he played a little over 7 minutes with Reke the Kings played evenly with the Hornets, they didn’t make up 6 points. When IT came in and he and Jimmer played together though they went -5.
Three line-ups when Jimmer was in
Prior to Jimmer coming in, the previous three line-ups were -9, -2, and 0.
Jimmer, Evans, Salmons, Hickson, Hayes were +4
Jimmer, Evans, Garcia, Hickson, Hayes, were -4
Jimmer, IT, Garcia, Hickson, Hayes were -2
Jimmer, IT, Thornton, Hickson, Hayes were -1
But I’m sure we were in a hole because of Jimmer. It had to be his terrible D.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
I didn't watch the first half so no clue about the whole Jimmer D thing but either way sounds really suspect
that beig said, some of those lineups are incorrect
Jimmer, IT, Garcia, Hickson, Hayes were -2
Jimmer, IT, Garcia, Hayes, Cousins were -2
Jimmer, IT, Thornton, Hickson, Hayes were -1
Jimmer, IT, Thornton, Hayes, Cousins were -3
Blame old eyes and late hour on the east coast where I am right now.
Thanks for the fix.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Numbers dont lie
Therefore, your point has been proven well.
But pulling a quote out of thin air to use as a crutch to keep the argument going is unnecessary. Nobody stated that we went into a hole because of Jimmer’s lack of defense, unless you count the time when you just did.
by Olde Greg on Feb 6, 2012 9:13 PM PST via mobile up reply actions
This was the exact comment
LOL we were down and got worse when he was in
Take it for what you will. I’m sure it was a compliment and I just missed it. Seriously guys. Even in a win there are people on this site that have to take a swipe at Jimmer. And you wonder why this back and forth BS goes on and on.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
I am not taking swipes at him soecifically..I am sayign that i didnt like the lineups smart was using at that part. and i said in the next post
didn’t say it was his fault, I am saying the guys were not clicking well together..Just saying our defense is horrible with him and IT or him and thornton
Founder of Isaiah as Mogwai..
Understand
And not arguing specifically with you. When Jimmer is on the floor, I really prefer Evans to be on the floor too. That seems to work well. For whatever reason, Jimmer and It always makes me cringe. Both of them want to be bringing the ball up the floor, IT doesn’t seem to be very fond of passing to Jiimmer, and they are a bad defensive combination right now.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
I wouldn't say he's not fond of passing to Jimmer
But I do agree they make a poor defensive combo.
Author of NBA Mashups. Follow me on Twitter here.
I have no idea how we'd find out
But it just seems like every time they are on the floor, IT passes to someone other than Jimmer. Maybe it’s just a perception thing. But it feels like the two are competing with each other on the floor rather than playing together.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Like I said
It’s purely anecdotal on my part.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Well
I know it’s popular to say how bad Jimmer is on defense. And Thomas is amazing. But actually they are only two point apart in defensive rating. I think it’s more a case of people looking for flaws in Jimmer’s defense so that every time someone scores on him, people are blaming him. But we’ll see.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Two points is a decent difference
Their PER’s against are vastly different.
Sacramento Kings - helping feed NBA fans across the country since 2011
Two points is saying that in a hundred possessions
Jimmer gives up one more basket than Thomas. To listen to most of this crowd, you would think Jimmer was giving assist to the other team. I know I should quit arguing this point because the anti—Jimmer crowd is going to see what they want to see.
But, especially for a guy who was not asked to play D in college, and has had precious little coaching time in the NBA, Jimmer’s defense is not nearly as bad as many of you guys make it out to be.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Seriously, I'm not an anti-Jimmer guy
But it’s clear who the better player is at that end of the court. And if you don’t like defensive rating, then how about opponent PER? At the PG spot:
Thomas – 10.4, eFG – .453
Fredette – 20.4, eFG – .542
These guys aren’t remotely in the same ballpark. I’m not sure there’s an adjective strong enough to describe Jimmer’s defensive failings right now. It is every bit as bad as many of us are making it out to be.
Sacramento Kings - helping feed NBA fans across the country since 2011
In how many games?
Against how many starting PGs? Remember again that a good chunk of Jimmer minutes came starting when MT was out and Smart was just taking over. You’re entitled to your opinion. But let’s revisit the stats at the end of the season. Or better yet, after a true off season of training and coaching.
It comes down to reality
And it's fine with me 'cause I've let it slide
Sounds good
I pulled the detail from 82games.com. According to their minutes breakdown, Isaiah has played 31% of the available PG minutes, and Jimmer has played 34% of the available PG minutes.
Sacramento Kings - helping feed NBA fans across the country since 2011
Jimmer played pretty good D against the T-Wolves
Good ballhawking and lots of steals. I think the sitdown might have given him something to think about.
"His D was a difference at the end."
They weren’t even really steals..More like the Wolves were passing it right to him..I am rewatching this game now, and they literally passed it right to him like 3 times
Founder of Isaiah as Mogwai..
He still has to catch it
Hickson, for example, might have turned those “steals” into Wolves baskets.
"His D was a difference at the end."
I don't care if it's a win against a bad team, I'll take it
and second, I personally thought of this as a tough trap game before it started given we knew before the game their starts were out and the Love stuff. The Hornets don’t give up either.
