BLACKOUT CONTEST!

In my 24 years of existence I have never really thought of myself as your stereotypical Kings fan. I am not the type to wear jerseys to games, hold up signs during time outs, attend autograph signings or paint my face purple and silver. As corny as this may sound the Kings to me are truly like family, loving them is simply second nature.

People who know me understand my passion for the team. This is especially true for my girlfriend whose favorite shows The Bachelor and American Idol that are constantly being skipped on our DVR for my top priority Kings. I know that may sound cruel but that’s why we have Hulu. Trying to reminisce about what it means to be a Kings fan is difficult, I seem to jump from memory to memory and can’t conceptualize a straightforward response. Instead, I will share the first things that come to mind when I think of this team…

The L-Train, The Rock Mitch Richmond, OP’s basketball clinic, “Mom can we go to Carls JR I need to get another Peja Bobble Head”, The Bench Mob, Michael The Animal Smith, “I love shouting these guys names: Lawerence Funderburke, Sarunas Marciulionis, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf”, playoffs Rattle Seattle and Beat LA, Tyus Edney is my idol, “The Greatest Show on Court”, cowbells are loud, “WTF Geoff Kenny Thomas and Corliss Williamson?” “Yes, it’s a miracle Ricky is sliding to us!” WHIT EBOY, “Who is Kevin Martin?”, “ Sweet, now we have cool owners”, “Ron Artest is our savior”, “Put it in the books, and send him to the line!”
