While city officials have begun questioning the Maloofs' commitment to the project, Maloof said the family's intention is "not to kill this deal, absolutely not."
Maloof has said the Kings have other objections to the term sheet, but so far he hasn't been willing to elaborate. Despite speculation the team could reopen discussions to move to Anaheim, he has said the team is committed to resolving the dispute and staying in Sacramento.
It was at the governors meeting a year ago, with the team on the verge of seeking permission to move to Anaheim, that Johnson convinced the NBA to give Sacramento one last shot at keeping the Kings.
