With the new amnesty rules, I'm a little confused about if big expiring contracts are still valuable or not or if teams would rather just amnesty players. Obviously John Salmons sucks, but would he have any value as an expiring contract who could essentially be sold for a draft pick? I ask because if the Kings were able to do that, then they'd be able to amnesty someone else like Francisco Garcia, right? Just looking for some info from people who know a lot more than me. Thanks!
