With the Draft only three days away, Mock Drafts are beginning to solidify their predictions.
Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress still has the Kings taking North Carolina Small Forward Harrison Barnes with the 5th pick. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist went 4th to Cleveland, Bradley Beal 3rd to Washington, and Thomas Robinson 2nd to Charlotte.
Chad Ford of ESPN also released his latest mock (Insider), and I was a bit surprised to see that he had the Kings taking Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at 5 for the first time. Ford has the Bobcats taking Robinson, but says they may consider Beal as well. According to Ford, Washington and Cleveland both want Beal and may look to trade with Charlotte for the #2 pick to ensure they get him. Contrary to other reports that say MKG is Washington's Plan B, Ford explicitly says that, instead, Barnes is Plan B. He has Barnes as ahead of MKG in Cleveland's books as well. That leaves MKG for the Kings, if of course they don't do something stupid.
Ford also released his first 2nd round mock, and has the Kings taking Miles Plumlee. DraftExpress has Doron Lamb at 36.
UPDATE (3:00 PM): Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com also updated his mock draft, also with Kidd-Gilchrist to the Kings.
On the StR sidebar, we've had a running compendium of 14 popular Mock Drafts. Currently, 9 of the Mocks have MKG to Sacramento, 4 have Barnes, and 1 has Beal. The one with Beal has not been updated since June 13th.
