Sorry about it, but I was reading through the ESPN trade rumors, and there were three things that caught my eye. One, Kyle Korver is apparently on the trade block from the Bulls. The second and third are related in that Nic Batum may not be going to the Timberwolves, and Portland may be in the market for a C to help mentor Meyers Leonard.

First, Kyle Korver is on the trade block from the Bulls, and is a SF that I think the Kings should have an eye on. He shot 43.5 % from 3 last year and is a career 41.3% shooter from 3-land. He is also a decent defender (albeit not great) and could fit in with the Kings just because of his 3 point shooting. The Bulls would theoretically replace Korver with Michael Redd. I'm not sure what it would take to land him, but I don't think we would have to overpay to get him.

On the topic of Nic Batum (again, I apologize for bringing him back up) he has insisted that he really wants to go to the Timberwolves because of Rick Adelman (I remember that guy) and Ricky Rubio (and he could have been a King). There was talk of a sign trade with the Trailblazers receiving Derrick Williams in return, but the T'wolves seem to not wish to make that trade. (Now it appears that the Wolves are interested in Korver so that might make Batum available for the Kings).

So how does this relate to Portland in the market for a C? Well in my not-entirely-in-reality brain, I noticed that we just resigned a F/C named JT. Now, while I love me some JT (he was extremely consistent once he got consistent minutes) would it be possible to trade him for Batum? It will fill a need for both teams, but leave us without a quality big who can score off the bench. But that would be the sacrifice we would have to pay to get Batum.

However, Batum has said that if he doesn't end up with the Wolves now, he will sign the one year contract with the Blazers then sign with the Wolves in 2013. However, if the Wolves sign Korver, Batum may not want to go there and compete for minutes. Am I being delusional, or is there a chance we could get Batum?
