Kings Looking At Luis Scola?

According to ESPN's Marc Stein:

I'm told Charlotte, New Orleans and Sacramento all have levels of Scola interest and weighing whether to lodge bids.

Although his play slipped a bit last season, Scola would still provide a talent upgrade for Sacramento. The Kings, of course, are no strangers to the amnesty bid process, having "won" Travis Outlaw last offseason. Given the Kings inability to entice free agents on the open market, this seems to make sense.

The move would not be without questions. The Kings have an already crowded frontcourt of DeMarcus Cousins, the recently re-signed Jason Thompson, Thomas Robinson, Chuck Hayes, and Hassan Whiteside. Scola provides definitely upgrade over Whiteside, an upgrade over Chuck Hayes, and a likely short-term upgrade over Robinson. But clearly someone would be on their way out. Hayes seems the most likely, but his value would be limited in the trade market after a disappointing year last season.
